If he escalates things with Russia he is not protecting his subordinates Greg. Not sure why you are having trouble with such a basic fact. He would be putting them in even MORE DANGER. Then, in your mind, he should say and do NOTHING and let the Russians continue to kill our people just so we DON'T piss them off. What do you tell the parents or spouse of a dead US servicemember? "We regret his death but we didn't want to piss off the Russians". Greg No you imbecile. He should say nothing, and PULL THE TROOPS OUT. That is not doing nothing. Do I need to use a larger font or something?

That would be 30 years in the United States Air Force. I think it's fair to say I had far more responsibilities assigned to me than you ever did. I also think it's fair to say I understood bringing my people back from a war zone far better than you as well. When the Commander in chief sells them out, he should be charged with treason. Greg My bad 30 years chair force. And yes I'm sure being responsible for the best coffee around could be stressful. When people like yourself don't understand that they actually want to put more troops in danger it becomes disappointing that you ever lasted so long in the service and were in any sort of leadership position at all. It's a good thing you were air force, your reasoning abilities lead me to believe that had you actually lead troops in battle they would have died. Well slick dick, I've been through four wars. I've sent people off to war and goddamn made sure they had the training, equipment and skills to come back alive. I served with them, lead them and took care of them in the field. In my wildest dreams could I have ever imagined the Commander in chief would sell them out for $100,000 each. Greg

He starts doing something other than removing the troops. Russia is going to respond. They are going to start increasing the funding to anti-American elements in Afghanistan and other areas, as well as become more directly involved. That means our troops end up staying even longer. That means they would be in even more danger. That means that even more American troops would die. Do you get it yet? Do you understand where your logic leads? It leads directly to more American troops killed.

While they are there, they have an expectation of the President of the United States making sure they stay safe. In THAT, he has sold them out to a foreign power. He's a piece of shit. Greg

We must be using different definitions of the word "Honor". There is nothing honorable about "getting his" at the expense of everyone else. There is nothing honorable about wanting to put the troops in danger in order to score partisan political points against Trump. It's funny because you don't even deny that's what he is doing. I think I know him well enough to know when he is opining, poking or prodding tongue in cheek. I do know that he is a 20+ year Army vet, with time in theater. His honor is not in question here. Apologies, Greg. I knew you were USAF. Either way, I will not denigrate your service.

Think Greg. Just rub those 2 brain cells together just one time please. If the troops aren't there they can't get shot at. They are currently in a war zone which means they are going to continue to be shot at while they are there. The obvious conclusion should be to remove the troops from the war zone so that they don't get shot at anymore. This means that you don't escalate the situation which will cause increased political pressure to keep the troops in danger in order to counter and confront Russian influence and interference in the region. You are a moron so I don't really expect you to understand all that but that is about as simple as I can make it. As a former Squadron Senior NCO, here is WHAT I understand. If my subordinates as well as myself are deployed to a combat zone, WHY I'm there is NOT open to discussion. Doing the job, completing the assigned mission with NO casualties is the primary thing on my mind. It's bad enough the Afghanis want to kill us, but now Russian operatives have joined the mix and goosed up the Afghanis to see that we all come home in body bags. NOW the worst thing of all is the Commander in chief not giving a shit. Not doing a goddamn thing. Greg
Oh, I heard Trump is really pissed about this whole thing.
He's angry that he didn't get the house cut on the bounties.

Greg Of course there is tit for tat. You don't think they could up the "bounty"? You don't think they could send in Russian special forces? Russian mercs? My logic is to PROTECT THE TROOPS BY BRINGING THEM HOME. You've betrayed your service. It's obvious that you don't care about them at all. It's unfortunate.

The interesting thing in this conversation is that you haven't chimed in at all really on what you think should happen. Do you think that Trump should be more confrontational with Russia with our troops scattered all across the globe? Do you think that wise with an incompetent President? Do you think Trump should be playing games with Putin? Do you believe that the best way to protect the troops is to bring them home after over nearly 20 years of conflict in Afghanistan or to continue to play the remnants of the cold war? What say you Bama?

I still haven’t seen any actual proof that there were Russian bounties for American soldiers’ lives.
Evidence, even.
Anonymous sources? Leaks from some “intelligence” people?
And now efforts towards withdrawal seem to have taken some serious steps back?
Boy. That seems like evidence of something else entirely.
Sometimes it seems the programmers are getting more sophisticated. But then, perhaps it’s the people who are just getting more conditioned to the programming.

Truth happens to be perfectly correlated with what the neocons want and the “intelligence community” leaks. Amazing!

That being said, trumP is a Russian asset who doesn't care about the US or our military unless he can use them to benefit himself. I want him gone, and I want Russia sanctioned for interfering in our elections, for invading Ukraine, for murdering political opposition, for civil and human rights abuses, for kleptocratic corruption and money laundering. I'm sure there's more. And no, I am not comfortable with the Russian asset trumP presiding over that. He is an incompetent, an ethically and morally bankrupt grifter. But I want Putin and Russia to pay a price for this, over and above any bounties. I'm funny that way.

But that absolves trumP of nothing. In fact, it is just another charge added to the impossibly long list of charges against him. I hope the Biden administration doesn't sweep them under the carpet. I want trump held accountable.

That argument is ridiculous. It's ridiculous to bring the troops home? No. It's ridiculous to attack Greg and accuse him of wanting US service people to suffer or die just because you two have a difference of opinion.

You think it's simply because we have a difference of opinion? It couldn't be because what he wants Trump to do would put our troops in more danger?
