Hasn't everyone been saying Russians are paying $100,000 per corpse to kill American service members?... You telling me the money transfers from the Russians to a middleman to be paid to Afghans wasn't worth telling the president. Actually, they DID tell the president. He did nothing. He is still doing NOTHING.

Also, "The 5 intel officials I spoke w all said the money wasn’t a bounty, rather, it was aimed at funding the Taliban — which is then used to fund ops against the US" ( Source). And they told him there was disagreement about what this was. There was also disagreement about the strength of the evidence. All of this was in the WaPo and Times reports. But you want this President, Trump, going off half-cocked? Why? |

HE said no one TOLD him. THAT is a LIE. He was told. The information was included in his daily brief in February. He either didn't bother to read it or he read it and didn't care. They are now trying to pin the lie on some CIA operative by claiming this person never TOLD him. THAT is a lie. Whether there was disagreement on the information or NOT, NOTHING was done. NO follow up. No "Find out about this". NOTHING.

Trump's lies about not knowing or not being briefed are ridiculous and easily refuted. Like all of his lies. But how can you say there is not follow-up when it's still being investigated? That is follow-up. That is 'finding out about it.' What concerns me even more than Trump denying any knowledge of this is the motivation for the leaks (such as trying to stop the troop withdrawal). And the reactions of people like Sasse, who are calling the deaths of GRU agents (when it isn't even clear there was a "bounty" system in place). The reactions of media running headlines, like "Putin on Offense as Trump Stands on the Sidelines," hyping global competition with a declining petrostate. |

In a court of law. Where evidence was presented. We're not operating in a court of law here. And the Russians are going to deny any allegations, like they are right now. So, if you want to confront them and have support doing it, you need to have this locked down, because we don't have any goodwill left at the UN and NATO members are practicing hedging. But the leaks were never about that imo. |

Their lives are in danger because they are in Afghanistan engaged in combat with the Taliban (for 19 years now) and ISIS-K. If the concern is their lives, then bring them home, because whatever mission we are there to achieve failed a long time ago. But we're not.
