The EU got hammered and still have more deaths from Covid than the US.
The trouble is the distribution. They took the brunt of the cases early and are now way down, the US on the other hand...

Literally laughing out loud here. They think we are weak because we won't give up our freedoms?

“The world is laughing at us.” Wasn’t true when originally said but valid now.

I really don't care what Italians think of us. U.S. citizens, some of whom came here from, Italy, are Americans in my brain. I have never been in favor of putting adjectives in front of the word American when talking about our citizens. We are all American, period. I realize that a lot, if not all, Americans don't think the same way and I have to put up with Italian American, African American, German American, etc., but I think it's silly. You don't see other nations say American Irish, American German, etc.

Your attitude (the attitude of the far-right) concerning the containment of the virus and consideration for others is simply disgusting. I cannot imagine a more unAmerica approach to a crisis. Nationalist idiots have assured that we're seen as abject failures. We deserve the ridicule..

www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailyherald.com/amp-article/20200808/news/200809375/Who cares that young people are committing suicide at a higher rate? Anybody? Might economic turmoil and isolation have something to do with this? Who cares that “experts” are calling for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of more deaths from tuberculosis this year worldwide? Who cares? The Italians are judging us. That’s what matters. And they’re wearing masks. But what about Sweden? No masks. No real lockdown. Your fucking authoritarian narrative has to be cherry picked, because it’s fucking stupid.

Has Sweden’s?
You might not want to hang your hat on Sweden .. Informed individuals refrain from such ..
Sweden's prime minister orders an inquiry into the failure of the country's no-lockdown coronavirus strategy
>Sweden has launched an inquiry into its no-lockdown policy after thousands of coronavirus deaths in the country.
>Sweden now has the fifth-highest per capita death rate in the world with a larger death toll than all of its neighbours' combined.
>Sweden's daily new cases rose to over 1,000 in the last week, up from fewer than 500 in May.
>Sweden's prime minister said the country must now change its approach.
"Now the question is how Sweden should change, not if."
Unlike most other European countries, including its closest neighbours, Sweden did not implement strict, wholesale lockdown measures in response to the pandemic. Instead, the country has largely allowed businesses and hospitality to remain open and students to attend school
In May, Sweden's state epidemiologist, Anders Tegnell, justified this response by saying that countries that imposed strict lockdowns would likely suffer large second waves later in the year, whereas Sweden's would be smaller.
"In the autumn there will be a second wave," Tegnell told the Financial Times. "Sweden will have a high level of immunity and the number of cases will probably be quite low."
However, the strategy appears to have failed, with recent data suggesting the virus has spread faster in Sweden since Tegnell's remarks two months ago, while failing to stimulate sufficient antibodies in the community to prevent a second wave.

You might want to read some more recent articles on what's going on in Sweden.

That’s like 5 weeks old. They’re down to near zero. Other countries are now getting a “second wave”. Funny. Looks like you can’t hide forever on house arrest.
