I always wear a mask when I go out, so the answer is probably close to zero.
I am happy to wear it, in fact, have several styles to choose from. Just another article of clothing to me.
This is the new normal buddy. COVID will be with us at least another year.

Interesting. You say that you don't recall a time in your state when you were told not to mask. Why in heaven's name do you think that someone would tell you that? Before covid-19, at least in my recollection, there never was a reason to tell people to mask or not to mask. Not even when Tuberculosis was running rampant. Or pneumonia (before penicillin was the miracle drug).

"The California Department of Public Health, along with the CDC, does not recommend that healthy people wear masks at this time. I'm also in California, and I don't remember the state saying not to wear a mask.
I do recall reading that only an N95 mask will protect the wearer against Covid19. I also remember reading that such masks should be reserved for health care workers since they are the most essential and most exposed. I deduce from this that if anyone was saying don't wear a mask, it was to preserve a limited supply of N95 masks for the most essential societal needs.
Of course, if Trump had taken warnings seriously last year, we might today have enough N95 masks for everyone. But we don't, so the recommendation has been to wear a non N95 surgical type mask, or hand made mouth/nose covering, to help prevent the wearer from spewing potentially Covid19 laden droplets on the rest of us. We have met the enemy, and he is us.

It's simple. Did you or didn't you ignore the recommendations? If you were wearing a mask at all times then then you were at one point ignoring recommendations from the experts. Which would make you a hypocrite. If you were following the recommendations at all times like an eager Igor then you should probably be thinking about all the people you've potentially killed because apparently the experts made some mistakes. And if they made some mistakes then it logically follows that we shouldn't always listen to the experts. |
