You keep on making wild idiotic assumptions and then act is if your assumption is fact. It's a common trait present in the less intelligent segment of the populace. You did the same with another poster where you assumed that because he reasonably questioned the legitimacy of a negative assertion against Trump that he was a Trump supporter and voter despite the fact that he gained nothing from Trump as President of the US and he couldn't possibly vote for Trump to begin with as the poster was Canadian. First off, I'm not wrong on masks. Will masks provide extra protection? Of course. A hazmat suit would provide even more protection but I'm not wearing one of those either. I wear a mask when I feel I need to. If businesses require them when I enter then I wear a mask. If they don't then I don't. If I were to go to a nursing home or a hospital I would wear a mask regardless if they required it or not. For the nursing home simply because those people that are there are completely helpless but I also haven't visited a nursing home since I was a child and I have no reason to go to one now. With a hospital I would simply wear one for the placebo effect on others, people are there and they are stressed out and they don't want to be there. I also haven't been to a hospital in over ten years and I don't have any need to go to one now. I don't hang out in tightly packed crowds of people. When I socialize I don't get close enough to where we are practically spitting on our faces when we talk. I don't hug and kiss on random people. The problem is that you're a moron. You're arrogant, you've proven that you can't think for yourself, you don't understand language, probabilities and statistics, or people in general. It's kind of amazing that you've survived as long as you have. You remind me of the people that drink fish tank cleaner to protect against the bat flu. I am curious if you've considered the number of people that you have killed while you weren't wearing a mask 24/7. |

Am I the only one who believes that it's very strange that we talk about "experts" on this subject when it's only been about five months since we've been aware of it? How did anyone become an expert in such a short time? What have I missed?

I'm fairly certain virus outbreaks have been part of the human condition since Day 1 and most modern nations have job roles that focus exclusively on this well documented history. The trouble were having now, is the politicization and even outright rejection of science when it doesn't align with our preferred political narrative. We've gone tribal when unity was needed. In interweb terms, that's an epic fail as we all lose. |

What's the "well documented history" of what? Of covid-19? I have a hard time believing that. I try not to either worship science or reject science completely. I just don't have a problem with not believing it totally. After all, the earth was flat or so said science of old.
As far as the experts being experts, I had a really good friend who has now died, but she used to say, "Maybe, Maybe not". I tend to agree with her on this.

There are plenty of PhD's in virology and MD's who specialize in fighting viral diseases. Not to mention the legion of those involved with public health matters. These are the experts, and they warned Trump over a year ago about the danger of a viral pandemic. His response was to slash funding for the very agencies that we rely upon to avert a pandemic disaster.
So you wind up relying of the moron who claims he has a "very large brain", is a "natural genius", and "hires the best people".
