You are doing it because you were told to. That's the only reason. Like a good unquestioning little Egor to the state. Yes master, whatever you say master. Did you say the world is flat master? Oh yes then the world is flat. Master says the world is round now? Oh yes master the world is no longer flat, it is now round. That's you. You aren't really thinking about the data at all. You are just wrong. I work for a hospital system, and I get weekly live updates from our epidemiologists who show us the numbers and the science and make a strong argument based on data. My team works directly with COVID patients, and I personally have helped implement a cloud AI system to analyze radiology data to look for symptoms so our overwhelmed radiology staff can more effectively do their jobs. This is real. You can be a part of the solution, or you can put your partisan beliefs ahead of the safety of your fellow citizens. Freon Blowmello is a Trumpuppet through and through. Ignorant, selfish, egotistical, and just bad news.

Problems:
1) Not peer-reviewed
2) It's an abstract, not the full paper. It lacks such info as materials and methods, experimental design/results, etc etc etc.
3) Did you flunk science?

Sorry, not gonna sit through a two hour video in search of something that you might think supports your argument, whatever that is.

Cliff notes: They submitted hundreds of articles for peer review. The peer review process attempted to add liberal slants and they approved most of their papers even though they completely made everything up.

No wonder you don't like it.
You prefer right wing biased pseudo science.
Tell us, what science is Trump's PhD in?

They are telling you what to believe. And you simply accept it. Did your epidemiologists tell you 3 months ago that the general population shouldn't be wearing masks or facial coverings? Are they presenting data that is not available to the general public? If so why? Aren't we a democratic nation where new laws are supposed to be debated in public with our elected representatives? How can you not see the danger in this? It's like you've been programmed to just "Yes master". And to be honest I really don't give a shit about your "oh my radiology department was overwhelmed". Reallocate resources and deal with it. Plenty of departments sitting on their hands right now not doing jack shit. I know who is overwhelmed or not. I'm part of the system getting supplies out. There is not an overwhelming of the system right now. Not even fucking close.

Can you present us with the peer reviewed article or articles you read that stated that mandatory mask wearing was necessary? If not that then articles that are peer reviewed that merely support the idea that we should be wearing masks?

It's not a complicated solution. Lockdown. Support people financially. With what? The money the government collects from taxes. That is "the people's money." But it's all spoken for? Simple. Pull a paltry hundred billion out of defence spending...no, not soldiers' salaries. Pull it out of that money budgeted for research and development of death and destruction technology, a field in which the U.S. not only leads the way by miles, but actually pushes forward everybody else's death and destruction capability (as they follow the trails brilliantly forged by the U.S.). Are you serious here? 100 billion? Our most recent temporary bailouts over this have cost over 3 trillion. Doing that for any real length of time is clearly not sustainable.

Don’t question my religion even in the face of evidence that the peer review process is not the omniscient force my priests tell me that it is.

You have that right, but the more you try and defend it with your complete lack of reason, the more foolish you are.

Pull it out of that money budgeted for research and development of death and destruction technology, a field in which the U.S. not only leads the way by miles, but actually pushes forward everybody else's death and destruction capability (as they follow the trails brilliantly forged by the U.S.). I gotta echo Lomelis on this. I thought you were being facetious when I read this post the first time. Are you serious with this tho?
As Lomelis said ... we have already spent 3 trillion and many people are estimating we will have spent 7 trillion by the time this is over. (By people I mean Democrats.)
Most of that was to try to give state and local governments a lifeline to keep water processing plants and sewage treatment and ... of course ... police officers working. But hundreds of billions went to unemployment.
And there because you're Canadian I feel like I should expand. "Unemployment" doesn't cover everyone. It's not covering all my coworkers at our sister plants across the nation who have been working 20 hour work weeks since March. It's not covering the self employed or "gig economy" workers. It's not covering my wife who is a "banking consultant" with a contract that ends today that hasn't been confirmed its renewing (the bank is closing 13 branches...including the one she has been working with.)
It's supposed to be ... but as usual the bureaucracy is getting in the way. And speaking of that bureaucracy getting in the way ... currently people who *are* unemployed are 6 weeks behind on unemployment checks. See why "unessential restaurant worker" George Floyd was trying to shuck and jive his way into a lousy pack of cigarettes yet?
Are you not seeing any of that in American news? That's so weird....
100 billion dollars would be eaten within a couple weeks just in salaries for the government workers who are working (according to our EDD liaison) 90 hour work weeks 7 days a week trying to process unemployment claims.

100 billion dollars would be about a one time payment of 1,000 bucks to each of the 100 million workers being impacted by the shutdowns. That just about covers my rent for July. Thanks Obama!

Let me rephrase Mercy's commentary.
The solution is simple. Advise the vulnerable to lock down while the rest of us keep the world's greatest economic engine functioning and grinding towards a vaccine so the vulnerable can be safe.
But then ... nobody has seemed interested in discussing the fact that nearly half of our deaths have come from people who live in a perpetual state of lockdown...

The science doesn't support your belief that this is so dangerous that we have to crash society and live in a perpetual state of emergency. It simply doesn't. Stop being an Igor.
