Your response makes no sense. Which part of my statement do you find confusing? He/she may be confused about there being effective vaccines for the flu.
And so far no vaccine for Covid-19.
Regardless of whether there is a vaccine, influenza kills people every year. And can be spread pre and asymptomatically. So either you’ve always worn a mask, or you are programmed, or you have just been convinced of the morality of masks and will always wear one forever and yet still somehow act with moral righteousness despite just arriving at your ethics.

Yes, influenza is a killer. But Covid-19 is a much worse killer.
According to the World Health Organization, influenza has a death/case rate of about 0.1%. Covid-19, on the other hand, has a death/case rate of about 3%.

A month ago, the CDC put the IFR between .2 and 1%. With a best estimate of 0.4%. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/5269331002I believe that is dropping to below 0.3% now. 3% is fucking absurd. You’ve been programmed.

Tens of thousands of people are getting “just the flu” in July? Millions of people are catching a disease that for the vast majority is mostly harmless. Do you dispute that scientific fact?

Not to forget when her own husband has had enough and calls the cops on Lomelissa... LOL...
You gotta love the grin on her hubby's face as she's being hauled away... I'd be laughing hysterically by that point...

So you think the scientists at the CDC are wrong now? When their findings go against what’s best for your preferred political elites? Hmm.

Some people can't handle the truth:
“Science Alert” seems to think deaths divided by “confirmed cases” with a new virus that had limited testing for months is the path to IFR. If you go with that, you must then believe that this virus isn’t all that contagious. 12 million cases worldwide as of yesterday?? After at least 8 months? Lol. This thing isn’t contagious at all then! Or do you want to have it both ways?

I just quoted the CDC and you blithely ignore it.
I guess you're just demented that way.

There is some good news coming out of central America.
Guatemala, which implemented some of the strictest measures in the western hemisphere, is throwing in the towel and will be fully opening after months of a devastating lock down.
After the discovery of 2 cases back in March the government imposed an Ody leftist wet dream of human rights violations on the whole country.
It didnt work, at all. After devastating the economy, massive unrest, and accomplishing nothing the government is finally acknowledging reality. They fucked up.

The CDC told us not to wear masks and now apparently a bazillion people could have been saved had we ignored their advice.

That was the Case Fatality Rate, not the Infection Fatality Rate. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case_fatality_rateSome light reading to make sure you get caught up on the science. “The IFR will always be lower than the CFR.”

Yeah huh.
Maybe you should try reading your link:
So are you still going to ignore the FACTS in your own link? That the CFR for Covid-19 in the USA is still about 50 TIMES the CFR for seasonal flu?
Really? Are you that stubborn and dense?
I guess so, since you sound like a con.

As time moves forward, the CFR reduces and approaches the IFR. Both because more tests are administered for a novel virus, and then because antibody tests can check backwards to see who had the virus at some point in the past. The CFR starts super high because only the most severe cases are tested as tests are rationed. Nobody actually thinks IFR is over 1% for Covid anymore, unless they completely disregard reason and have political motivations.

Again, you can't handle the truth.
Even if the IFR for Covid-19 is just 1% (which so far hasn't been documented), it would still be TEN TIMES that of seasonal influenza. Your own link says the WHO "estimates" the IFR for Covid-19 as 0.6%. That's STILL six times the IFR for seasonal flu.
Don't you ever get tired of losing these debates?
