freon, if a person is fat they will often give you every reason under the sun why they are fat...in the end, its usually, 99% of the time, because they have bad eating habits...they don't eat right and exercise...
its not because the gym isn't open when they get off work, or there are no good food stores where they live, or they don't have the time....
morgan freeman and denzel washington and a few other prominent black people gave a great interview...and basically said there is no racism...look at their success...obama, oprah etc...if there were this huge blanket of racism, then all of these black people would not enjoy so much success...it would not be possible....
ask how many jewish people have political positions in the 23 arab countries...none...that is racism...
people do care about content of character...that and hard work are ingredients to success...regardless of race, creed, or color...
its sucks for many to see oprah, or obama, or ben carson...or the countless other black success stories...because it takes away all the excuses...
if I had a nickel for the number of times I've been told I'm so lucky to be blessed with being in good shape, by someone shoving twinkies down their throat I'd be rich...yea, its luck...sure it is...eating right and exercising has nothing to do with it...
99% of a persons lot in life is character and work ethic....most all of us know this...which is why we want to puke when 99% of some peoples effort is on things that have little to no bearing on anything...
you obviously didn't grow up the "sticks and stones" saying era...my guess is if someone called you a name, you went crying to mommy, and mommy filed a complaint with the school for not protecting you...she may have even filed a lawsuit on your behalf...

This really is a perfect example of the type of systemic racism that people are marching in the streets about. In so many ways this encapsulates the "problem" perfectly. Queshank I agree, but why stop there? If the drive formerly known as slave is clad in black plastic, I assume that it will have to be repainted; make it a rainbow to be even more inclusive. And this newly woke drive must also be reconfigured to be wireless since cables resemble restraints. Perhaps the drive formerly known as slave should be gifted with its own motherboard and power supply so that it is second to no other.
I'm guessing that at Freon's med research center that one can no longer get black coffee in the break room. But no cream will be available either, because it's far too white. Should all of the lights remain on because someone might be offended by the sudden darkness?
Come on, folks. We've just scratched the surface; help us find more.

What I find fascinating is the argument by each of you in here that once you start respecting one group, the world will end because now you have to respect everyone. Sounds horrible.
What I am hearing is that you feel you have the right to disrespect anyone you choose. You do. It sucks, but legally, you are right.
But what a crappy society you get as a result.
Guns. Motorcycles. Smokers. All hobbies that are legal, but piss other people off. I'm betting you back them all.

>If you don't obey my every little whim, you don't respect me. No. If you don't respect me, you don't respect me.
That's all this is. You have to SHOW respect in actions, not just words. I find the minuscule change in behavior needed to demonstrate respect to be negligible effort. Which means this is a conscious choice NOT to show respect. And that is why we call it racism.

"Jewed" was coined as a bigoted word and you know it. It's not the same. I'm not saying that the complaint wasn't valid. I'm saying that waiting for the complaint, or asking about it if you have a question, is how you treat adults. I'm sorry, but your OP requesting a list of potentially offensive words to minorities comes across as horribly paternalistic and potentially much more offensive and irksome than which you are trying to prevent. Actually, I was not looking for a list of words. I just gave the example because I am currently dealing with it directly.
I was looking for parts of our justice system. Our banking system. Standardized testing (schools, DMV, etc).
Systemic racism is just that, systemic.

I look forward to all of the data driven, scientific and contemporary responses you get with this. Aaaaany second now.

hardly a minute goes by, when I can't think of my grandmother from ireland, at age 12, working child slave labor upon arriving here, homeless...Its so hard for me to go on with my life, because everywhere I turn I'm reminded and haunted of my past...
just the other day, at a "friends," I noticed potatoes on his counter and a guiness in his fridge...he asked me to grab some ice in his freezer, and all I could think was there it is again, more holding me down, treating me horribly...he probably didn't even realize what he was doing...

>If you don't obey my every little whim, you don't respect me. That's wrong. You can respect someone without obeying them. Which suggests this is about something other than "showing respect," and that rationale is just given as a means of manipulation. Which is what all the leftist do-this-don't-do-that is about: manipulation. How about this for an idea. Instead of telling white people what words they can and can't say, why don't you get your pet N-words under control? No one is ordering you to do anything, so you are not obeying anyone.
You are being informed that some of your actions are offensive, and you are being ASKED to change.
Who is forcing you? Sounds like a straw man.

How can that possibly compare to hundreds of years of slavery.
Congratulations, you win the award for the most extreme false equivalence of the day! Now THAT, is sarcasm.

hmm...the irish, slavery... nit wit freon just exposed his stupidity...how could one instance of irish slavery compare to hundreds of years of slavery here....yes, one instance en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Irelandlet me ask you something...I've been attacked or robbed over 6x in my life...4x while living in south central los angeles ad 2x while in s. florida...every case it was black males...even had to testify in federal court against two brothers.. casetext.com/case/united-states-v-joseph-55who broke into my homes (2 of them) in s florida to steal guns...followed me home from a shooting range... now, how much sympathy do you think I have for any idiot...white black or yellow or green...who break the law and attacks people... do you think for one second I'm going to give anyone a pass, because someone in their distant history...may have been a slave...who by the way was captured by another of their own race an sold... I only care about what I have control over and what happens today... or should we start jailing kids of gang members, when they reach 18, because of what their parent did...

Respect? True respect is both earned and reciprocal. No one OWES their respect to anyone, but good people attempt to give others the benefit of the doubt. Are we expected to "respect" the deep paranoia required to assume that we must have been thinking of black people when we assigned the terms "master" and "slave" to computer drives? Such mindless intolerance smacks of speech codes and thought police; antithetical to liberty.
“Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.” ― Benjamin Franklin
“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” ― George Orwell
“If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”― John Stuart Mill
“I have never thought, for my part, that man's freedom consists in his being able to do whatever he wills, but that he should not, by any human power, be forced to do what is against his will.”― Jean-Jacques Rousseau
“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty, than those attending too small a degree of it.”― Thomas Jefferson
“Playing the victim role: Manipulator portrays him- or herself as a victim of circumstance or of someone else's behavior in order to gain pity, sympathy or evoke compassion and thereby get something from another. Caring and conscientious people cannot stand to see anyone suffering and the manipulator often finds it easy to play on sympathy to get cooperation.”― George K. Simon Jr.

So you chose to live in areas with high black populations, and you got robbed by that population.
And you blame blacks?
To me, you have no concept of personal responsibility.
Worse, you extrapolate an entire ethnicity's disposition from the behavior of a few. When I call Trumpers stupid, you get all bent out of shape, because you feel I am extrapolating the intelligence of a large swath of people based purely on my interactions with Trumpers in this forum. So it is ok when you do it, but not ok when I do it.
I am baffled at how all this resolves in your head. I am a person of integrity, so your mindset is completely foreign to me. Freon

So you are saying that your default attitude towards anyone you meet is disrespect, because how in just meeting someone, can they have earned your respect?
You don't sound like a Christian at all. What value system do you follow? Freon

What part of "good people attempt to give others the benefit of the doubt" confused you? I show respect in the form of courtesy to anyone that I meet, but to develop any esteem for that individual, it must be based on experience, a mutual deference and a judgement of character. Courtesy is required (at least among normal people) but respect must be earned.
As far as disrespect as a default attitude, did you ever express a strong disdain for some Christians on the old LNF? Perhaps you need to work on your own house before judging others.
