The economy crashed because local and state governments shut down businesses. Blaming that on Trump is idiotic especially when the people complaining about it support those policies that are going to crush the economy. The state has been under a mandatory stay-at-home order since mid-March, forcing nonessential businesses to close and prompting more than 4 million Californians to file for unemployment benefits. Nobody else had the power or the ability to fill the vacuum left by his lack of leadership, and to make matters worse, trumP began to try and save face by disparaging and undermining anyone who seemed to have a better handle on the situation than he did, which meant that he was pretty much disparaging and undermining everybody. At that point, we all knew that he (and therefore we) were in over our heads. His grasp on the workings of our economy was no better than his grasp of the pandemic, so that was the next thing to go. He has no f'ing clue about what is going on or what to do about it. He is damaged goods. Always has been. He's a failure. Always has been. He is a demented, malignant narcissist, a racist, a sadist, a liar and a thief. He should never have been allowed anywhere near real power, but he was. Now, we are all paying the price. The epidemic will run its course here. We will continue to fail spectacularly in any attempts to control it. By the time it is over, if it ever is, the actual death toll might well be in the millions. You can disparage the victims all you want. But doing so doesn't make you right. Rather, it makes you look cruel and clueless. People are dying because of trumP. The virus is killing them, but trumP is doing everything to make matters worse. And again, even Putin has to be shocked by trumP's spectacular failure. He could not have possibly expected this kind of return on his investment. When the economy got better under Trump, you gave the credit to Obama. And now that the virus has wrecked the economy (which is what you guys were hoping for), suddenly it’s the Trump economy. They wanted retribution for the very act of the rest of us putting a half black guy in their previously All White House. trumP has been working dutifully on the destruction of POTUS Obama's legacy from that day forward. So I should have asked what shutting down the 5th largest economy in the world would have on the GDP of the US.

In reality, the economy was weakening and needed to be artificially propped up by government stimulus. Don't believe me? Go back to 2019 and read the Fed's announcements about trade headwinds causing them to abort their normalization plan, returning to an easy money policy: low rates and credit creation. How were your investments doing until the pandemic came along? |

Yes Greg. Most people know that cause of the drop is the pandemic, not Trump. And most of us know that if he is reelected and the new vaccine works, we will almost instantly be back on the road uphill again to make America great again. If he is not reelected and the Marxist democrats take over, it will be the end of America as it was meant to be, the best country in the world. If China immediately stopped the coming and going from the place it was first noticed, it would not have been spread all over the world. China kept it quiet because they had no cure either.
