Hey, you won! Congratulations.
Four years from now, what are you expecting to have happened.
I expect we will be in an extremely deep recession, and that we will have moved closer to a police state.

Freon It’s odd even ur brethren on msnbc are acknowledging maybe the democrats should have focused more on actually doing their job vs investing everything in going after trump and calling him names. You on the other hand have no self awareness or intelligence to understand why the democrats lost. We are all better off with two good strong parties if two is all we are stuck with. The democrats wasted the last four years of opportunity to grow and give the people a reason to let them keep steering.

Freon You obviously live in California. Not a real American run state. A very socialist run dump. I was there about 6 years ago and did not like what I saw going on. It could be a real beautiful state. The ocean the hills and curvy roads with a lot of forest view. Some nice home high up on hills. But the way it is run by their government, it is a socialist dump. The gas when I was there even then was twice what it cost in other states. I remember paying three dollars for a cup of coffee. I was glad to get back to Florida. And now, I guess I was not the only thinker like that. We have more people moving here from California than ever before. And many other democrat run states moving here. And I am so glad the voted for Trump too. They woke up and got out of their democrat run sewers. Let me know when you are moving here. If it is in Melbourne I can tell you what some of the great restaurants are and where so you can enjoy the food and the sunshine at the beach. Just look out for alligators.

My brother-in-law is a Trumper, just like you. He was raised in Cali, took advantage of all Cali has to offer, but because of our politics, decided to move to Dallas. He's lived there with his spouse for a few years now, but we just heard he is saving to move back. This is not the only story like this I know about. I have no issue if you wish to live in Florida, archie, I'm just glad I don't have to. Your voting decision is going to make prices skyrocket, and your privacy vanish. I hope I'm wrong, but even those who are about to make those decisions for you, are predicting it. Is that what you expect? This is the question I am asking in this thread. You just unleashed Project 2025, and if you didn't read it, you are a bigger fool that I already consider you. You were not careful about what you wished for, and now you've got it. G-d help us all. I expect we will be in an extremely deep recession, and that we will have moved closer to a police state. These are both trends that are already in motion.
The question is, can Trump turn them around?
Probably not with half the country fighting him. And while it's no longer his entire party fighting him, it's still about half.
/shrug
The point to the Trump election was to try to stop trends that were coming if we keep letting the establishment follow their inertia.
Will it succeed?
Well ... I've been on record for many years now saying in the long run the establishment wins this. So probly not.
So your expectations will likely be realized.

An actual response from you that is on-topic will receive a response from me, Que. Then what was the gain putting Donald in power? The RWBs, Lomelis', and stus think they are going to have a great time these next few years, and yet they are going to get hit the hardest because of their (your) own voting decisions. Freon

Do you really think the economy and the police state are the only issues at stake?
The police state will be slowed at least while Trump is in office. But the trend that started with Lyndon B Johnson's "War on Crime" and accelerated with Nixon and Reagan's Charlie Rangel inspired "War on Drugs" and reached peak power under Clinton/Biden's 1990s "100,000 new cops to combat superpredators!" will continue.
"The police used to watch over the people. Now they're watching the people." - Me starting in the late '90s.
Recessions are unavoidable. Presidents can't do shit about them. They don't control the economy.
Now I'm going to laugh at you because you think Trump will be the cause of these things that have been staring you in the face for decades.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Freon Some people would say its about who can better manage what is coming our way. That we are headed for a serious downturn is by anyone's estimation inevitable. We don't manage it by allowing millions in illegally, sending billions to forever wars that have nothing to do with us and wasteful spending at home. It is time to tighten the belt, reduce our spending and focus inward for the time being.

Hey, you won! Congratulations. Four years from now, what are you expecting to have happened. I expect we will be in an extremely deep recession, and that we will have moved closer to a police state. Freon What I predict at the international level: I expect that the Trump administration will relatively quickly broker a peace between Ukraine and Russia. Not within the next two months lol. This will bring more stability and reduce energy costs further alleviating inflation as well as reduce the risk of nuclear confrontation. Western Europe will have to increase its defense and industrial capacity relieving strain on US forces. Arab countries will be brought back to the table with Israel, putting pressure on Iran. With a Russian peace there will be more isolation of Iran. Israel will be pressured to declare victory in Gaza and start the rebuilding process without a UN presence. Further isolating Iran and cutting it off from one of it's proxies. Hezbollah and others will then stop their attacks and the ME will return to a relative quiet similar to how it was just before Oct 7 2023. China and the US will be at a tit for tat trade war until a trade agreement is arranged that is more favorable to American interests. Trump and Lil Kim will resume sending love letters and the Korean peninsula will remain relatively quiet. No new significant military conflicts. A reduction, maybe even a full withdrawal, of forces from Iraq and Syria. What I predict at the national level: A broad reduction of regulations and tariffs will be used to entice more domestic investment. Red states will take advantage of this and experience even more economic growth. Blue states will not. A continued exodus from blue to red will occur. Immigration will be significantly reduced relieving strain on local communities. Insignificant federal tax reform, likely a reduction of personal income taxes offset by increases in tariffs. Pro domestic energy policies, including fossil fuels, will help reduce inflation. The department of education will readdress how federal dollars are used to fund state education coffers. Money will increase for STEM and trades and decrease for wokeness. There will not be a federal abortion law or ban. At my personal/ local level: My job will be more secure as Trump won't attempt to have me and others fired for not injecting chemicals into our bodies. Bodily autonomy.
My employer has for the most part already fled California leaving behind a bare minimum of workers to service our California customers so my position is safe in this regard.
Quality of life will continue to erode because I live in California and California is doing everything it can to make life more difficult for the middle and working class.
California will not take advantage of a more deregulated federal atmosphere but will instead seek to undermine it.
My wages will continue to be eroded by excessive state and local taxation as more taxes and spending were approved locally this election cycle.

No. Better than the alternative? Maybe a little bit. Living in California I won't be able to experience or take advantage of potentially any of the good things that might come about the next four years. My vote was a vote to help prevent what's going on California from being exported to the national level which would truly fuck over millions of people. Leftism, like that prevalent in California, is a cancer. It just grows and destroys anything that is healthy ultimately leading to the demise of its host. This next term is going to be one of the treatments to prevent the spread and hopefully reduce that cancer, but there will be necessary follow up treatments to significantly reduce it to a manageable level.

Ethics??? Trump is expected to be ethical??? LOL www.cnn.com/2024/11/09/politics/trump-transition-ethics-pledge-timing/index.htmlPresident-elect Donald Trump has not yet submitted a series of transition agreements with the Biden administration, in part because of concerns over the mandatory ethics pledge vowing to avoid conflicts of interest once sworn in to office, CNN has learned. A source familiar with the process acknowledged that details are still being worked out with the Biden administration regarding the ethics agreement, which is required by law under the Presidential Transition Act and which applies to all members of the transition team. Updates to that bill requiring the ethics pledge were introduced by Trump ally Sen. Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, and signed into law by Trump himself in March 2020.
