Instead, they were probably on the way out; the party was losing funding as well and some Nazi party leaders were looking for the door.
That hasn't happened. Trump won the popular vote (without resorting to political violence), his party has won the Senate, might have a larger majority in the House, and there was a shift to Trump and Republicans across lots of demographics.
You might disagree with Trump's policies (I do that's why I didn't vote for him), but the Nazi/fascist stuff has been overplayed - as seen by last night's results, very overplayed.

Now that Trumpler is about to become dictator in a couple months I'm really curious to how the left is going to handle it, specifically those like Bama and Autreyu who completely bought into the Trump is Hitler trope.
You have just a couple months. Are you going to flee the country or when the time comes quietly get put on the train to the camps?
Or is there going to be some serious self reflection? Maybe calling everyone Nazis, racists, and sexists wasn't a winning strategy? Will they step outside their media bubble? Perhaps focusing on the issues that mattered to the majority of people, the economy and immigration, was better than the Nazis fairy tale and abortion?
Personally I don't think they are going to get it.
Harris had a moment, a brief moment, where she could have pulled it off. From the time she usurped Biden and was coronated as the Dem nominee to the debate with Trump that did not go well for him. All the attention was on -her-. She was polling really well and all she had to do was keep that focus, attention, and energy on her, but she couldn't help herself. For some reason they thought Trump is hitler is winning strategy despite all the evidence that it didn't work and only seemed to help Trump. Maybe she had nothing to really offer but as soon as she focused all that negative attention back on Trump it was game over.
