I hope, if anything, he has learned his lesson on just appointing connected people. He needs to appoint loyal people, loyal to his vision and policies. The last time around it was a non-stop clown show of folks not being on the same page, undermining him, and constant turnover.
Gotta hand it to the Democrats, Biden comes in, appoints someone like Garland, and Garland just starts using the DOJ to go after their political rivals. Don't need any obvious discussions or collusion, Garland knew what was expected and is executing.

biden and Garland have weaponized the DOJ to go after Republicans. 🙄 So if trump does get reelected and does the same thing to Democrats you'll be OK with that too?

So if trump does get reelected and does the same thing to Democrats you'll be OK with that too? I do not believe the DOJ have been weaponized. Trump has been afforded way more latitude than anyone else in the same situation. Trump not only took secret documents; but showed them to people without clearance and admitted, on tape, he knew they had not been declassified. Are you really OK that he did this? I’m certain we won’t need to find out as I am 99% certain he is going to lose in ‘24. Presidents are not immune and neither are citizen candidates.

The thing is, being a good at picking people and managing an organization through them was supposedly his huge strength. And it was his biggest failure as president. The chaos under which he ran the executive branch is a significant contributor to his loss. Arguably the most significant. So why is he getting the nomination? Why even hope that he'll get it right this time when he blew it last time?

Can't blame it completely on the left or media, but when every Republican is Hitler and going to be the end of the world... that certainly did not help. Ultimately though, I blame Republicans and connected people who once again divided the party. We had one real shot, and that was DeSantis. Instead, we did exactly what we did in 2016, we fractured the party into a bunch of various Not Trump factions instead of consolidating around the best alternative. I thought we had a real shot at getting him some momentum before Iowa, but those idiots at Americans for Prosperity and the Koch Network decided to at the last minute back Nikki to barely keep her alive and competing. Not enough to ever have a shot at Trump, but certainly enough to sink DeSantis. They might as well have joined Trump and outright supported him directly for as good as that did. It is similar to 2016 when Rubio and Kasich were both too prideful or naive or whatever the reason to drop out, nope, they had to spite Ted Cruz, who was the clear leading alternative to Trump and he did have a much more clear path to a victory if those two clowns did not keep dividing the vote to give Trump a plurality to win.

I’m certain we won’t need to find out as I am 99% certain he is going to lose in ‘24. Presidents are not immune and neither are citizen candidates. It is not just Trump. As I have pointed out here many times, one of the most obvious examples is the enforcement of the FACE act by Garland. They sent armed FBI Agents in full gear with guns drawn to arrest an old Catholic man in front of his family... when the guys lawyers had already told the FBI he was 100% willing to come turn himself in if they did in fact issue an arrest warrant. All over a years old case that every other level of law enforcement and local prosecution declined to do anything with because the evidence clearly showed it was the abortion clinic goon that came across the street to start the fight and instigate things. They proceeded to drag him through prosecution for a jury to acquit him in something like an hour of deliberations. It is the process they are using to punish and target people. This is just one example of many for how Garland has weaponized the DOJ to show force like this, to obviously send a message.

There's not a lot to disagree with there. As you say, the ship has sailed. And when given the chance, Trump proved he wasn't up to the challenge. And we got Biden as a result. The election in my State is unlikely to be close. Recent polling shows one of the two main party candidates with a commanding lead over the other (it doesn't matter which one and I guard my privacy too much to say). If that doesn't change, I'll for sure vote for someone other than those two. As long as my options are the following, my choice (C) is easy: A. Increasing the mandate of the guaranteed winner of my State that I don't support. B. Vote for a guaranteed loser of my State that I don't support. C. Vote for a guaranteed loser of my State that I do support.
