It’s not racist. It’s a product of the DEI initiatives that the airlines themselves are promoting. An airline should state that they are looking for the best pilots. That’s it. The most capable pilots. That’s what passengers want. When they say they want to get to 10% trans pilots by 2025, or whatever, they are putting merit below some other characteristic. And people will look at a trans pilot and wonder…. If merit is the focus, and everybody knows it, then nobody has an issue with some 50 year old black guy flying their plane. Agree. Years ago, I was part of a project to increase recruitment amongst ethnic minority candidates to the British Army. We invited groyps - Sikh temples, mosques, whatever- to spend a Saturday as our guests on assault courses, weapon familiariaation, stuff lime that, quite a fun day to be fair. At a debrief a Sikh elder asked our OC about entry standards, abd was told they were the same for all. Sikh geezer said "well how do you expect a rush of recruits if our youth have to do everything the same as your usual recruirs?..OC: If we get a lot of Sikh recruits great. If we lower standards, not great. We'd rather have zero than lower standards". Dead right (Incidentally, culturally speaking Sikhs are excellent soldiers).

Oh yeah. KSU is the Red Thread Locker. Greg So, you and I are just pretending that we're posting on this "locked" thread, right?
Ya'll are such whiny snowflakes sometimes (the "p" word is probably more appropriate, but unnecessarily harsh and cruel).

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is what happens when you believe your own BS lies. What about airline crashes in recent past? This has nothing to do with what Candace and Charlie are saying... which is that if you lower standards just so you can hire more black pilots... then they will question the qualifications for those pilots. What standards are being lowered? Hiring lesser qualified individuals because they are Black or a Woman because you want more Black people or Females to be pilots.

I am not writing a white paper on the meaning of "perception is reality." That is a concept that every educated individual should understand. The fact that you need me to define it for you is a sign that you are just a fucking moron. Which has nothing to to with perception and reality in this thread It literally has everything to do with the thread. The problem with programs like AA or its reboot, DEI, is that they create doubt that minorities and women earned their jobs and thus creates bigotry rather than solving it. But the whole point of DEI is not to actually help anyone. It is merely a marketing tool to make people think the company is socially responsible. That's the perception for some. The other perception is that they are lowering standards. That is the perception for others. Both believe that to be the reality. But the reality, in the case of airlines, is that they have always (well for the last 40 years or so) hired as many minorities and women as they could. And the hiring standards have not changed. But, perception is reality. FM.

Is Kamala Harris a token VP? Running mates are chosen to get people elected. You admit that. Biden doesn't care. Harris was used as a tool. But Harris knew and accepted being a tool.

Do you know what a strawman is? Obviously not “If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.” ― Lyndon B. Johnson You accused me of thinking all women and black people are inferior to me. Where is your evidence of this? This is a straw man. You’ve constructed a strawman which states that I believe certain populations are entirely inferior to me. If you can’t support this with evidence, then shut your laughably stupid mouth. I mean, honestly. Try to maintain one conversation without coming across as a complete fucking moron lol. That is not a strawman. You presume that because people get the opportunity to be trained to become pilots who are black and women and the the pilots license test that white men take, they are not as qualified as white men. Do you think they have a DEI pilot’s test?

Hiring lesser qualified individuals because they are Black or a Woman because you want more Black people or Females to be pilots. What would make them less qualified? Use your brain. What kind of skills do you think a commercial pilot would have?

When I fly I'm putting my life in the pilot and co pilots hands I want the most qualified ones no matter what color they are not some token black or female who only got the job to fill a quota requirement

How so? Is there a DEI pilot’s license test? Oh My Gawd You seriously don't understand perception is reality? Like, that concept is just beyond you, isn't it? Perception is what people believe. That is what your link stated, dimwit. Besides what the hell does that have to do with what I asked. Perception is that some people believe that blacks and women are not qualified because of DEI. Reality is anyone who passes the pilot’s test and get licensed to fly a commercial airplane is qualified. GET IT?

What would make them less qualified. They take the same test to be licensed as white men, don’t they? Do you think there is a separate test for DEI applicants?
