This helps... but the real challenges with a real EV revolution are how do we get enough materials to make all these batteries and how do we get a grid capable of charging them all? Even with all power sources combined today, we do not have enough, and the left opposes Nuclear power and wants to destroy all carbon-based power.
I love seeing all these folks talk about charging their cars while they sleep. Guess what isn't happening while you sleep? The sun isn't shining. While wind power does go up some at night... there is nowhere near enough wind energy to even think about powering cars.

Game Changer for EV's? Death of Gas Cars?
No.
People seem to completely ignore that our power structure that would be relied on to provide energy for EVs is powered primarily by fossil fuels and will be for a very long time considering how much damage to the climate the production of EVs can cause.
Anymore I view the entire "green" industry through the lens of pushes to recycle only to pay countries like China to take that recycled waste ... where they dump it into the ocean while they laugh at how stupid we are.
There are no honest brokers in the energy industry.
And all ignore the child slave labor used for mining inputs for batteries. Unlike the clothes on your back or the dishwasher in your kitchen?

Ride a bike on a cloudy day and suck it up!
Twenty four minutes for the first idiot response. Surprised it took that long.
lol
Maybe you should read your article with a bit less zeal, faith and religious fervor. "Wishing, and hoping, and thinkin' and praying!" ain't just for Greg and Russian collusion anymore. It's pretty much for the entire left and their view of the entire world.

This whole thread is based on a hypothetical future if the extended battery life is viable....wingnuts seem to prefer to look backwards.

I bought a hybrid in the early 2000’s. The car made me feel sick. I went on Edmund’s car forum to research and hear from others. I ended up interviewed by a reporter from NYT. I believe in using alternates to fossil fuel when possible; but the design has to have improved. I am hypersensitive to EMF’s (and barometric pressure). Never heard of a sensitivity as EMF's are part of every day life for everyone. It had to do with proximity to source and I traveled for my job putting me in the car for hours at a time. I spoke with a Canadian car fleet Director who told me they had to get rid of their entire fleet due to EMF affecting drivers. It was just my personal experience. Fluorescent lights also make me sick. I cannot stay in a box store or groc. for more than 20min. Weird. That started after my first Stem Cell Transplant.

I have no clue what your argument is and telling me to google it doesn't do anything.

The power grid? The infrastructure (charging stations, etc.)? Or both? Are you advocating domestic investment in such infrastructure? If more people want it, and it becomes more affordable and efficient, there won’t be a need for what I assume you mean as government investment. Entrepreneurs will invest to make profit. As to our power grid, it will have to be beefed up to accommodate for far more EVs. To be honest, not sure how that is fixed. I just know it’s not capable right now. There is plenty of precedence for government investment in what may eventually become privatized. Not sure what your concern is there. The power grid will, IMO, be upgraded in response to the reason you just mentioned - demand.

I have a sometimes aversion to fluorescent lights. Must be awful to feel that to the point of feeling sick.

I have no clue what your argument is and telling me to google it doesn't do anything. My argument is that you do not understand solar/wind and that it is stored. I was replying to your statement which I found incredibly incorrect.

Hardly science fiction. Plausible possibilities. Your attitude would have us remaining in the cave waiting for lightning to strike to give us fire.

It is your belief in fantasies like these and others that has allowed the right wing to outflank your claims to be the arbiters of reality.

I understand both just fine and we have no realistic way to store that energy right now. Please elaborate more specifically though on just what you think is happening.

The first flying electric car, 'Model A,' approved by the FAA and it's 100% electric

What a bunch of Americants. My buggy is just fine the way it is. What about buggy whip manufacturers what will they do? This is the country that went from blowing rockets up to landing on the moon in 10 years. Whiney bunch. It will happen, it will take time. Private companies with gov assistance will overcome the "its too hard" people. And I bet the whiners here have never driven an electric car. They are a different beast.
