So as bad a sin as some of you want to pretend it is, Christ never mentioned homosexuals or homosexuality? Who are you directing this comment to and which comment? Trying to figure out who you think is pretending homosexuality is bad and what comment that was. As Mercy pointed out, it doesn't appear that you have read anything here either, as it has been explained how Christ has specifically spoken to many things like marriage, which does speak to homosexuality being a sin. |

I stand by my question. Can you show me what Christ said about homosexuals or homosexuality? Jesus affirmed marriage in the context of Jewish culture. Homosexuality wasn't an "option" in that culture. The one time Jesus uses a word associated with homosexuality (certainly elsewhere in scripture), it was disparaging. Less so about homosexuality in general, but about the person to whom he was referring. |

Depends. If you endorse the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church (which, to my mind, might require turning a blind eye to a whole lot of negative things), then okay. But I don't. I'm a fan of Francis. But I don't hold him to be the representative or spokesperson for the universal church. |

There is an ultimate standard, which is Jesus himself. You can't "get there" by imposing a bunch of rules and arbitrary expectations, but neither will you "get there" by "anything goes for the sake of inclusion." |
