Just when you thought this race pimp induced nightmare couldn't get any more moronic, yet another offensive food brand is being flushed down the memory hole.
And that's your Two Minutes Hate for the day, proles. Now get back to work, but monitor that telescreen for further instructions.
Literally, the animals are now running the zoo.

If you were the CEO of a company that thought for one second, having a name like that for a product would cut into sales, you'd dump it too.

Note what happens when a company chooses NOT to change with the times. Greg

This is getting ridiculous.
Real people don't care about this sort of feel good nonsense.

I don't see what is derogatory about "eskimo pie" but if that's what they have to do to not impact sales, then whatever. People definitely find excuses to get sensitive about the silliest things [Granted, there are examples where they have a valid point too].

Yes, I was surprised by that proposed change. But if the native peoples of northern latitudes are offended by it, I'm fine with seeing the name go, as long as the ice cream novelty is still available under some name.
Some time ago, Canada replaced the term Eskimo with Inuit.

I remember in the 1970's when I lived in a rural college town, there was a Sambo's in town. I also remember getting befriended by a seemingly normal couple who kept on and on about how "the bad people" were trying to get the name changed. I had never paid much attention to it, but after taking a closer look at the restaurant, its signage, and some slogans on the walls, I could see the point of the "bad people". I think the "Little Black Sambo" part of the advertising disappeared around that time. But I have never eaten at a Sambo's. It just didn't seem right.

Never heard of a Sambo before.
