Oh, so the problem got sorted out and the votes will be counted. OK. OH, and it's not fraud. OK. Greg You are so predictable which is EXACTLY why I said this, I knew it would be you. By the way how long did it take to get this corrected? Yes that's right like Trump said, weeks, months, maybe years. What about the "mistakes" that no one catches. Did he not mention issues with the P. O.? Always count on you to divert to something that was never said. I have said for on other posts that it's the process that hasn't been tested. Keep swinging Toasty. Odd too that NOWHERE did I mention fraud Tangential Man
So it took weeks to sort out. So what. The votes are getting counted and nobody is saying anything about fraud.

You brought it up, not me. Glad to see that if Trump as your side falsely claims, refuses to leave office until there is a definitive final count, should he initially lose and there are pending counts and lawsuits that may not be resolved in time for Inauguration Day ... you'll be right there to support his remaining until we are sure who won.. Why transition to a new president if it ends up the old one won? It's only "time" as you said. After all the only thing you want is honesty and justice, right?
Well, if it's not sorted out by inauguration day, Nancy Pelosi becomes president. That's how the constitution works. Problem?

I's so easily solved, as far as I'm concerned. No more mail-in ballots except for the absentee voting that the military receives when their home state is not where they are stationed.
Sending out millions of ballots invites dishonesty. It's not a matter of Republican v Democrat. If the voter wants to vote, they go to their assigned voting poll and vote , and that's the end of more messing up than need be. If we don't think it's important enough,l then we won't vote. Again, it's up to us, the voter.
mr crepe and I took the easy way out for our primary and voted by mail. We will never know if it arrived wherever or if the vote was counted. We also had to vote on a few other policies for the state, and we're not certain if that was counted. We do know the result of the voting, or so we try to believe.
We will not choose to vote that way again. We'll don our masks and go vote in person. To heck with the virus. I think I'll look at it as an outing.

I voted by mail in the primary, due to the 'rona.
Loved it. Was able to sit down and research each candidate before filling it out.
Most informed vote I've ever cast.

Absentee ballots or under a similar verifiable system.
Absentee IS voting by mail. Problem?

Dementia? How many times did I say just a day or so ago that if the method was similar to absentee voting, where ballots were requested in adnvance and there are mechanisms were in place to handle the load... if it becomes mandatory to vote that way, then it will have to reluntantly be. Problem is letting it be done that way is subject to the same concerns that we've already been discussing due to the amount of voters. Point is there's no need to vote that way. But you can rehash it again all day. I won't be playing. In fact you already knew that becaue you were on that thread.
Earth to Abe. There is currently a virus out there that can kill you if you congregate in a crowd (like standing in line to vote). Now, if a voter is REGISTERED to vote and is LEGALLY able to cast a ballot, then there is NO problem having that person vote by mail. Just like Trump. Just like Pence.
Problem?

Let's make absentee voting universal and drop the requirement that you must request a ballot. We can simply use QR codes to encode names, addresses, social security numbers, and print them directly on the ballot. Then it is just a matter of creating a database to track who votes (to ensure no one votes twice).

Nope. Should it be? It's legal, and as long as it's legal they can use whatever process they want to use. I think they use absentee ballots which are a different way. My first husband and I voted absentee when we weren't living in our home state due to his service in the military. Mail in voting is not the same as absentee. Check it out. You might find it interesting.

Yeah that was covered too...next.. Still obtuse like you always are. Absentee...now tell us the story of your military voting again thatw as covered on that thread as well. Enjoy your day.
It may have been covered but apparently YOU still don't get it. And neither does Trump.

A legal vote by a registered voter is a legal vote, whether by mail or at the polls.

I'm half-way fascinated by all this talk about the super-duper important differences between absentee and mail-in voting.
Did a talking points memo go out that I missed?

There is no difference. It's the same thing and they know it.

Like I said days ago when a system that's viable is tested and works, I can be convinced. That won't happen nationwide in 90 days. I also suggested trying it in Gubernatorial races as a trial run first. My objection is based on rolling it out now. As to the virus we covered that so no need to rehash it. If we can do mostly everything else with precautions, we can vote in person.
It's not nationwide. It's by state. Get it straight.

Last anyone checked voting by mail as proposed will be for a presidential election which encompasses the entire nation. More obtuseness? Get it straight.
Apparently, you haven't been paying attention. The efforts are to get each STATE to open up voting by mail. That 50 states. Many are already doing just that.
Get it straight.

I think there are differences but I'm really not sure what is gained by highlighting them or making an argument about them. What's the point? There is none as far as I can tell. Maybe I should tune into Fox News to see if our LNF righty's got the messaging wrong. I have a hunch something has been lost in translation.
