If true this might throw a wrinkle in the models saying "We all gonna die!". Do some people have protection against the coronavirus? By Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Andrea Kane, CNN Updated 4:45 PM ET, Sun August 2, 2020 ..."For herd immunity, if indeed we have a very large proportion of the population already being immune in one way or another, through these cellular responses, they can count towards the pool that you need to establish herd immunity. If you have 50% already in a way immune, because of these existing immune responses, then you don't need 60 to 80%, you need 10 to 30% -- you have covered the 50% already. The implications of having some pre-existing immunity suggests that maybe you need a small proportion of the population to be impacted before the epidemic wave dies out," said Dr. John Ioannidis, a professor of medicine and epidemiology and population health at Stanford University..."www.cnn.com/2020/08/02/health/gupta-coronavirus-t-cell-cross-reactivity-immunity-wellness/index.htmlBeen a lot of articles floating around the last week or so looking at the immunoresponse to covid. The percentage of the population required to be infected or vaccinated in order to establish herd immunity could be much lower than originally estimated.

Interesting that island nations and countries that heavily shutdown are seeing a resurgence of cases.

Could we just agree that we know very little about this virus? We've only been aware of it for a matter of months. That's not long in the lives new health issues. Wash your hands. Put your mask on. Stay out of crowded places. Do social distancing.
IMO, the only good thing about this is that possibly people are again learning that we, the people, ain't as smart as we think we are. Remember polio, measles, mumps, chickenpox, all diseases that were alive and well when I was raising my kids. It took years for the right combination of whatever was discovered that we then could use as vaccine so that the kids and adults no longer get those diseases. Don't expect so much from our health professionals.
Since I'm me, I'm also going to add tell your loved ones that you love them!
