If people lose their jobs due to government mandate, in this case stay at home orders, then the government owes them compensation.
Unemployment insurance payments are generally a fraction of what the person was making so the additional amount is understandable under current conditions. Considering the number of involuntarily unemployed the folks crying about peeps making too much to go back to work are just victim shaming. IMO, if you're gonna cry about someone making too much, look up. There are plenty of others up the money chain far more worthy of your scorn.

Seeing how: 1. The GOP have no unified alternative solution and continue to squabble over what the solution should be with each other. Even after months of having opportunities to discuss possible proposals if necessary. 2. The V-shaped economic recovery, like many GOP ideas, turned out to be a myth despite the evidence it obviously wasn't going to be like that. 3. The job market is currently shitty when it comes to skilled labor, unless the GOP wants millions of Americans to make a living off of working at convenience stores, gas stations, and fast food deliveries .
I'll say YES.

No.
We need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and dumping our debt on future generations.

Anyone who can go back to work should not be tempted to stay home. People with no choice should be helped. There are right ways and wrong ways to do things. I have no use for Pelosi or Schumer. They are not that smart, so they do whatever they think they can do to buy votes. And that is at our expense. Nothing is free.

Archie saying someone is "not that smart"?
The irony is amazing.

As I understand it, people are "crying about" people making more money not working than they do working. They get paid for staying at home and practicing their twiddling their thumbs. Ridiculous.

People aren't working because their jobs have been suspended. God forbid someone make an extra $600 on top of their UI payment. They might not go back to work!! The horror! JFC, set your sights a little higher, that's where the real criminals are. A global pandemic and some people are upset an unemployed worker is making an extra $600. Meanwhile, the floodgates could open at any time allowing masses of evictions. In the middle of a fucking pandemic we have citizens losing their employer based insurance...and $600 is what matters?
