You gotta be really stupid to hold a conversation like this. Total libtardation. You all hate history, science, and reality. Einstein's GR was not about morality just so you know. You should stop sniffing model plane glue... It does you no good.
Now now. Airplane glue is probably the only thing that gets Fizzella up in the morning.

I'm of the general opinion that science and religion generally do not mix well. Key to religion is an unchanging belief in what is right. Key to science is basing one's conclusions on verifiable evidence. Problems occur when verifiable evidence conflicts with immutable belief. Add to that the tendency of science to change its conclusions based on new verifiable evidence, and we have the recipe for conflict. Then you also have pseudo scientists who fervently believe their theories are immutable. Generally speaking, this is a recipe for bad science. Even the general theory of relativity could be subject to review based on new data. Humanity seems to have resolved the tendency of religion to be rigid by spawning new religions that propose different manifestations of supreme being(s). Sadly this has all too often led to religious wars, leaving one to wonder what the point is of religion to begin with. Agreed, and the pseudo religionists are just as harmful, if not moreso. As to the point of religion, I always try and remember that religion is supposed to be an outward manifestation of something more or less spiritual, and then I sit back and wait to see the show. Some of the religions are mystical, magical. Some are not. Most are behaviorally acceptable, and therefore held harmless in a truly tolerant society.

Most organized religions are glorified superstition.

I do not agree with that. The present is really all that matters. How we react to the present is often based on the past. Evolution, experience, instinct, etc., all are based on past events. I would agree however that the present is transitory. Hence the kernel of truth behind the quotation, "Life is an illusion".
For example, my left hand is cold. I put in on the back on my right hand, and I can feel the cold on my right hand. Then I rub my hands together. The cold parts are less cold. Is it that the cold goes away, or the warmth getting created? Is it all an illusion?
By the time you perceive the sensation, what you are sensing (and interpreting) is already in the past. Everything you perceive through any sense is "what is in the past" because of the time it takes to register the sense and interpret it.
Sensory perception is one thing and quite correct but due to the speed of light (speed of causality) we are always in the past even if our senses were instantaneous.

The exception proving that rule.

Follow up question:
Does the past not exist?

Follow up question: Does the past not exist? From what I understand, physicists say the that the past and the future both exist.

Follow up question: Does the past not exist? From what I understand, physicists say the that the past and the future both exist. That depends on what you mean by "exist". Does Mickey Mouse exist? Does the last digit of Pi exist? Does the squared circle exist? Does the "3xN+1" proof exist? Does even thirteen exist?

This whole discussion seems to reinforce the notion that the internet is the last place to try to get answers to such questions.

Did it used to? Is there even such a thing? Yes, but whats said for 500 years in history is wrong today. The left made a new version. Like the US created slavery and taking over land. No thanksgiving either. NA's and the white man never got along for even one day.

Follow up question: Does the past not exist? Or perhaps even better, did the past ever exist? Isn't the answer to that question a true answer? And if so, would not that answer the core question?
