Anyone? Mine hasn't, but I don't live in a city where that occurred.

Mine has changed. I can't relieve myself on General Lee anymore.

I expect those who are truly offended, and live in the affected areas, and participated in their long-past due take down, feel pretty good.
Me? I live in rural mid-America, nothing's changed here, but it's not about me or rural America.

What or whom do you think it's about? It's not really about me. Haven't knocked down a statue in years, but I do still believe that you don't wreck other people's stuff. I also don't know what the purpose of that tom-foolery was/is.

"First, they revised history and painted the South as evil and I accepted it.
Then they banned the Confederate flag, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Southerner.
Then they tore down the Confederate Statues and Memorials, and I did not speak out— because I was afraid of being labeled a racist.
Then they began tearing down statues of the founding fathers, and I cried out forgive their sins, but was ignored.
Then they burned the constitution and enslaved us under Socialism and now, I am forbidden to speak."
Read Orwell or Huxley if you're curious how life will change.

You lost.
Deal with it in a more productive manner than revising history and lamenting what could have been.
IOW, adapt or die.

No. Nobody's life has changed one whit.
Makes you wonder what all the "we must keep statues of racists!" squealing was about, doesn't it Crepe?

If nothing's changed after the monuments are removed, only an idiot fails to realize that there was no harm from the statues when they were still up.

As I noted to Mo, if nothing's changed then the monuments must have been harmless before they were removed. An empty gesture by morons.
I still say that this is a larger effort to destroy our history by ostracizing all who might disagree with the PC approved version. Can't have the peasants seeing statues and monuments that might make them think; they might even do a little historical research on their own and find out that the truth is a little messier and more complex. Keep em' stupid, right?
Ironic that the racists today are the ones pulling down the statues that you speciously call "racist".

If that is true, then nothing would have been changed when they were first erected either. Only an idiot would argue that no harm was meant or done by erecting on public property monuments to insurrectionists who had fought vs. their country in whole or in part in defense of slavery. But if you must insist on being that idiot, at least try and be consistent by extending your illogic back beyond those monuments to the time before those monuments, thus appeasing your retrograde sentimentality while the rest of us try to move forward with idiots like you unhappily in tow.

Still peddling those false Northern propaganda, I see. They were not insurrectionists, nor were they were not fighting against their country. Slavery was not the cause, only the trigger. After I schooled you on those indisputable facts, I expected you to have the intelligence to accept them. Sadly, I was disappointed.
All you've done, by your extrapolation into the past, is to strengthen my point that the monuments were harmless, and confirms my indictment of the leftist animals that pulled them down as morons.
As far a "moving forward", I'll stand a side while lemmings like you "move forward" over the cliff.

You can't have it both ways. Did the statues stand for something? If so, what? They were "monuments" to something which you are still defending. What is that "something"? And if they didn't, if they were meaningless or harmless now, why were they still standing? Ergo, if they stood for insurrection, slavery and oppression, they should have been torn down (long ago), and if they stood there for nothing, then what reason could you possibly have for defending them? If a monument stands for nothing, is it really a monument? Or is it just another place for pigeons to poop and Greg to pee?

If a monument stands for nothing, is it really a monument? Or is it just another place for pigeons to poop and Greg to pee? You are a hoot. Never said that the monuments were meaningless, just harmless. They are static icons representing a memorial to courage and sacrifice and a legitimate (and actually correct) interpretation of history BY THOSE WHO LIVED THAT HISTORY. The Greeks and Romans had slaves and did unspeakable things to those that they conquered, but we don't take a bulldozer to their creations! Italy has long been gone, yet their 2000 year old statuary is protected as priceless history, despite their less than savory history.
Barbarians and vandals, the moronic herds of that day, wantonly and stupidly destroyed Rome's beauty because they lacked the intelligence to appreciate a deeper meaning. I thought the we had evolved beyond such savagery, but as long as there are liberals, such animalistic behavior must be expected.
Interesting that you lumped Greg in with animals that soil what they don't have the brains to understand.

I was waiting for this response so I could point out what has changed. People aren't being forced to pay to maintain stupid statues to racists that were put up in hate, for hate. Queshank Lincoln and MLK statues still stand in DC, both of which would qualify under that ridiculous standard.
What maintenance? Spray off the pigeon poop? Hell, I pay taxes to maintain that Chinese spawned statue to an alleged reverend/confirmed plagiarizer who reportedly laughed while watching a woman get raped and I pay for a monstrous and grotesque rendering of dear ole' Abe Lincoln, that murderous tyrant who wanted to colonize all blacks out of the country. Are you calling for those to be removed?
There are monuments all over this country that I don't like, but I'm not calling for their removal. Such a purge is despicable and evil, far more so than the harmless stone figures that occupy very little space and consume very little public funding. Most were forgotten until these animals started pulling them down.
And I've already proven that the Confederate statues were not put up "in hate, for hate". Do you need another lesson?
