I prefer the government to focus on providing it's services as efficiently as possible. That means buildings and infrastructure should be plain, boring, and utilitarian in nature. Murals, statues, and monuments are wasteful and unnecessary for the government mission. These things have to be constantly maintained and they can and often do cause division. It's best for the government to just focus on what it is supposed to be doing. I almost entirely agree. Ideally, public spaces shouldn't be used to celebrate anybody, but historically they have and continue to do so. I'd prefer a removal of all idols and any reference to religion. But, if promoting a message is in society's best interest, such as acknowledging the BLM movement in the here and now (to keep a part of society from burning the place down), I can suffer it. Again, ideally, I agree with your POV and believe no statues is better than any statues. Personally I believe that in the long run actually addressing the issues of the mob is better than providing bread and circuses that merely distract for a bit of time.

Were they enemies of the U.S.?
Ask the loons who are trying to take down their statues. The loons you libs support. YOU brought up Washington and Lincoln.. Were they enemies of the U.S.?.. Did they wage war against the U.S. to preserve slavery?.. I'm not asking what someone taking down statues thinks.. I'm asking you. What does history say about them being enemies of the U.S.?
