How did he threaten her? What did he do that was wrong? By his own admission, by saying "I'll take care of your dog if you won't" and starting to call the dog over. Why wouldn't you think that is threatening behavior towards a woman alone in Central Park in *this* specific case? Queshank You mean in response to her refusal to leash her dog. Maybe he was the one intimidated.

She was so threatened she confronted him.
She didn't try to get away, or de-escalate. She promptly called the cops and lied to them. It's almost like this has happened before. Is there a history of white Karens calling the cops on black people for non-crimes? Seems vaguely familiar.

People ask, If the man was white, would she have felt threatened?
I ask, if the man was white and the woman called the police, would libs be making this a big deal?

Well, obviously the man was bird-watching while black without a license, which in racist minds is a capital offense.

Yeah. Women alone in Central Park shouldn't be afraid of men approaching them and even overtly threatening them. Women are so crazy. Don't they know this is America, 2020? Queshank
You think she would have called the police on a White man Q?
Greg
Is there ever any reason for bias greg?

so in your Racist mind it's ok for a black man threatening a white womans dog? NOW if the roles were reversed and it was a white man threatening a black womans dog you'd be on the black womans side. CONGRATULATIONS YOU'RE DEFINITELY A RACIST FUCKTARD

I just now read the full piece and feel bad for the lady. Lost her job? That's a bit too much, has nothing to do with her employer and she wasn't yet charged when they axed her.
Lose-lose outcome. ;/

What exactly do you think that article about her charges and recapping events in hindsight adds? Queshank Seemed to me that she announced to the black man that she planned to lie to the police.

Queshank You should read more www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/5385445002Slightly off-topic, but what's up with the capitalization scheme in that article? "Black" is capitalized every time, but "white" never is, except in one photo caption when it's the first word in the sentence. Does that make any grammatical sense? It's almost too stupid to be evidence of some kind of bias. It just comes across as bizarre.

The woman (I don't care what "color" she is), was walking her dog unleashed in an area of the park that had signs requiring that dogs be leashed. Her reply to that fact was that the area for unleashed dogs was closed. That's not the problem of the man. That's a problem for her. Leash your darn dog where it's supposed to be leashed. Unleash it when you're in an area not requiring that the dog needs to be leashed. It just seems so easy to me. There are rules that need to be followed.
I'm a dog lover. I've had a dog since I was 6 y.o (no, not the same dog) and they are wonderful pets to the owners but not wonderful to other people. Follow the darn laws when in public. There's a reason for those laws. Now that I'm old and need a walker to get around because of painful joints, it can be dangerous for me to have a dog jump on me, even out of friendliness. So I don't go to those places.
That dog owner was a selfish (b)itch, IMO. I'm glad that the man spoke to her about the leash law. I'm also glad that the law is taking the time to point that out to her. I wo0nder who will walk her dog if she has to spend a night or two in jail. Perhaps the bird watcher would be a good choice?

You can tell how terrified she was by the way she tried so desperately to get away from that bird watcher.. at one point running away screaming ..
