My son was laid off in 2014. He found another job immediately making less money and working much harder. So he got a weekend job to make ends meet. But in the meantime, he was looking for a job in his field. Found a better job in his field making more money and better benefits than the job he was laid off from. Shit happens. Good for him, but again, missing the point. And? Again, not the point. That is every single campaign, every election cycle.
Your point is that a populist message is why people are voting for Trump. I did not miss your point. I just think it is a stupid reason to vote for someone

A bs populist message is not going to make you get off your ass and do something for yourself. With a low unemployment rate, it is no excuse. Telling me what I want to hear is a stupid reason to vote for someone That's an excellent point. Trump tells people what they WANT to hear, not what they NEED to hear. Told coal miners they're jobs were coming back. Not. Greg And that is exactly my point. 😉

I just think it is a stupid reason to vote for someone Maybe, but it's still a powerful message for a growing segment of the population (more now than in 2022), which is why Harris has tried some similar appeals with her economic messaging.
And if that population keeps growing and the economic situation gets worse (there are a lot of concerning indicators), then that could have significant consequences in the next couple of election cycles (regardless of who wins tomorrow).

That population isn’t growing. That are just complaining. In 2023, the real median household income in the United States was $80,610, which is a 4% increase from 2022. This is the first significant annual increase since 2019. worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/average-family-incomepeople just mad cause they have to actually budget their money. It is a mind set that trump is feeding into. There are no concerning indicators. That’s all bs. I had to budget when I got my first house.

That population isn’t growing. That are just complaining. It is growing. And several statistics have been presented to demonstrate that. Meanwhile, More Americans are living paycheck to paycheck than previously thought. Some make up to $150,000. And Even though the economy is expanding and wages are growing, millions more Americans say they are struggling to keep current with their bills. Budgeting can be an issue. Things are also more expensive. That $80,610 doesn't goes as far anymore. Credit card debt rising, increasing mortgage delinquency, growing government deficits and debts (this isn't sustainable), housing affordability, falling housing demand, unemployment (your U3 number) is expected to rise over the next few years, and others.
None of that is looks good. It is concerning.

He / they are ignoring all the facts and data. I jokingly posted once it feels often like one is debating with someone working out of the Biden Harris White House. No matter how wrong they are, they continue to post the same position. When trump was president I was outspoken about how poor his performance was on environment - fertilizer, chemical pesticides etc. and I gave him accolades in other areas. Things are not well for the economy and the indicators are all there. When things are good so many are not living off credit cards. I’ve suspended all real estate investments over the past few years. We will see what this election brings.

Salaries increase as well as inflation. More Americans need to budget

Here's my method:
Earn enough to buy a house. When you buy the house, pay it off ahead of schedule. I bought the house I live in today and paid it off ahead of schedule.
What's yours?

Say p. I know you guys love to downplay the unprecedented foreign interference in our elections .. But you know how China, Iran.. Russia .. will put so much effort into producing fake videos about destroying Trump voter ballots or illegal immigrants or voter fraud ..
Don't you think it's weird that foreign enemy's agenda aligns so perfectly with that of MAGAt's ..

I know Russia didn’t launch a full scale invasion until they had Biden in office.

Big mistake on their part, wasn't it? Greg In some ways (larger geopolitical picture), but they're probably going to be victorious in Ukraine.

Yeah, it had already been invaded in 2014.

/facepalm
Kinda looks like they put the invasion on hold while Trump was in office. That seems to be what you're arguing. You might be right.

Trump's NATO was a weakened NATO. Russian belligerence would refocus NATO's attention back to external threats.
Putin probably didn't want to get in the way of his enemy making a mistake.
This is a far more likely scenario than "Putin feared Trump."

I have an idea. Let's make it worse in the name of it not being ideal!
Your idea seems to be aimed at increasing income inequality thru the economy and using government force to fix it and smooth out the wrinkles.
Nah. I'd rather sort out the inequalities created by the economy. Fix the problem, not the symptoms and all that.
