Your entire point is absurd. You think Columbus was the only explorer who risked his life to make it across the ocean? Before him, at least several other groups made the trek from Europe. This is well known. The only difference, is that after Columbus did it, the full exploitation of the Americas became possible. Yes. He actually did it. That’s the big difference. Pretty important difference. Thanks. It's not, but ok, you do you. Freon

Freon It’s not an important difference that all the previous explorers failed and that Columbus succeeded. Thats actually a wonderful little microcosm of modern leftism, as I think about it.

Thats actually a wonderful little microcosm of modern leftism, as I think about it. What you don't get, you stupid, is that at some point it was inevitable that someone would succeed. A plethora of explorers followed suit. Do you seriously think they would have sat on their hands had Columbus not existed. That only proves that you are an idiot.

He revisited the Americas, nothing more. But hey man, you do you. If you need to celebrate this guy so bad, I see no harm in it. Freon

Christopher Columbus was a mass murderer ..
We have an exhaustive, and gruesome, first-hand account of the horrors Columbus and his followers brought to the Caribbean from Bartolome de las Casas, a Dominican priest who documented his experience in Cuba and elsewhere in his “History of the Indies.”
In Book Two de las Casas writes, “Endless testimonies … prove the mild and pacific temperament of the natives … But our work was to exasperate, ravage, kill, mangle and destroy; small wonder, then, if they tried to kill one of us now and then …The admiral (Columbus), it is true, was blind as those who came after him, and he was so anxious to please the King that he committed irreparable crimes against the Indians…”
Of the Arawaks enslaved to work in the mines we hear, “Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or nine months and when they meet they are so exhausted and depressed on both sides …they cease to procreate. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and famished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7,000 children died in three months.
“Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desperation. In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk …and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fertile, was depopulated. My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write…”
You seem incapable of being historically honest and objective, preferring to only peddle a biased one sided cherry picked narrative that fits your own ideas.
LMAO.. You and rabbit both seem to think that moral relativism is an excuse for atrocities.. either those committed by Columbus or by your slaver ancestors ..
It's not.. You're a piece of shit ..

We’ve been convinced that these sorts of slaughters are in service to democracy or something lol. And mean tweets are infinitely worse. That’s where we should be focused!!

I've come to expect that kind of insanity from the likes of you.

It’s not moral relativism. It’s an ability to have historical perspective. All conquerors and explorers before a couple hundred years ago fail the modern progressive test for morality. So get past that and have interesting discussions about how these people impacted the world we live in. Or just rush display your virtue every time one of them comes up.

Why didn’t Columbus behave more nobly like me on my computer telling people how evil Christopher Columbus was? Do you wear your socks inside out? I do that every third day, it saves on laundry. Rabbit was an officer, they're more refined, so I'd guess he turns them inside out alternate days, like his underpants. The normal weekday undies, that is, not the patent leather Saturday night ones I got him for Kwanzaa a couple of years ago.

Ummm, Columbus never made it to US soil, smarty. This is basic US history, archie, and you present yourself as a complete ignoramus in not knowing what most fourth graders would. Freon Well you better tell Giggles that I guess she is as dumb as me. I always knew that Columbus was not the first to know this continent was here. Ancient Greeks and other civilizations were here first. But none started a great settlement at that time. We were all taught that he discovered America in 1492. That was in grammar school. Much later the history of many discoveries were taught. And we were taught that a long time ago, Iceland got its name because it was truly frozen all over. Many different countries were traveling the ocean. And yes, in time the white race was destroying the American Indian way of life. I have to think that if it were possible. Columbus would have been a democrat. He was not a member of the Mafia. Who settled Mexico? Who settled Porto Rico? Who settled Canada? We are surrounded. Cuba too. Columbus was a 1492 democrat. And who is ruining the great continent called America today. Yep. The democrat party. Extremely a socialist party. Will you ever, just once, google "socialism"?

I hear Columbus did that too, except for him it was months, instead of days. When he removed his socks flies would drop all around. It was more efficient than fly paper.

I'm relieved to say that I didn't listen. "Relieved"? Why would you be relieved? Are you afraid she might have changed your mind had you listened? That's a very strange statement. Her voice and demeanor are worse than fingernails on a chalkboard
