I think there was more planning on how to take advantage of the situation than to actually do their job and help American citizens. What federal presence there is, personnel, equipment, funding, is just a chintzy cover. I think the federal government is actually taking steps to hinder private citizen recovery efforts. It's a shame really.

Did you hear about the assistant fire chief threatening to arrest citizens engaging in private recovery efforts?

A good friend from the st Pete area just sent pics of his area on the bay. Holy crap. And now they’ve buttoned up and evacuated getting ready for the next one.
He said desantis is doing great and the locals are doing all they can.
I would not depend on Biden Harris for much. Money maybe. And it seems they’ve screwed this up.
Most of the in the ground response always comes from local citizens and outside private companies who get paid by the feds to bring in utility trucks, tree company services etc to do the work.
In the 20 years I lived in florida thru 2016 the state and locals did well thru major hurricanes, all things considered.

The truth keeps Sodomizing you, Reek: A red hat is cheap, Reek. It's the misery you love with thor. What's it like being a mental and physical slave to a political movement? Typical Trump-Slave - no more self-awareness than a dog that licks its ass in public.

Greg Does Biden even know where he is. He confuses port strikes with Middle East missile strikes. Desantis is doing a great job ahead of this storm. As our the citizens and local govt.

Yeah, its obvious spin. He didnt hear the question because of the plane engines in the background. You should have had side eye for the story owing to the source.

I just think some people aren't letting a good crisis go to waste.

That’s an individual situation When I have volunteered to do comms during emergencies 90 percent t of the people (govt workers) are extremely grateful and happy to have volunteers. 10 percent seem upset that you have to subsidize what they can’t do. But overall usually very positive.

But overall usually very positive. I agree that this specific situation is not indicative of a trend. The trend that I am seeing, which is disgusting, is the attempt to twist the crisis to fit a political agenda.

I've only taken the word of civilian accounts in all of this.

I've only taken the word of civilian accounts in all of this. I have no doubt that there are many people in need and who don't see help yet. It's the framing by MAGA around that fact that is the problem, which is par for the course as they blame Biden for everything from when they stub their toe to the price of eggs.

There no no where near the blame being placed on Biden Harris as there was on bush Katrina. And the criticisms I have seen are generally fair and fall into two categories One is the Biden Harris admin stating they are out of fema money and people looking at billions being sent overseas. That’s fair to question under any admin And two Harris stating they can get another 157b for Lebanon without convening Congress but saying they must convene Congress for hurricane money. It’s fair to ask why? Instead the Biden Harris admin won’t answer any questions and it’s clear they have all been instructed over the last few days to call it all misinformation. Unless it’s all coincidence that they’ve stopped answering questions and shout out it’s all misinformation.
