Lackluster media coverage.
Missiles from Iran killing one Palestinian is apparently far more important in terms of headlines and coverage than well over a hundred deaths in America.

Why are you calling it "lackluster"? The Governor's of every state hit by the hurricane have publicly said they are getting over and above the help they need from the government.

As someone who's lived through a number of storms (none of which were as devastating as this one) I can attest that it takes time to get the people and resources where they need to be. This is hard in a city like Houston which is spread out, but it is also hard in rural settings when roads and bridges are literally gone.
The infrastructure to bring in people and equipment is not there anymore in many cases. It will need to be rebuilt. That takes time.
Volunteer efforts are common first responders in these situations. The Cajun Navy has helped out my Texas neighbors more times than I can remember.

Some folks fail to understand logistics of post hurricane assistance. Before the first week post Helene people were complaining. Mounting a rescue when roads have been washed out makes it more difficult than flat coastal geography. Then, people stirring up shyte out of ignorance. Maybe stop voting for those who do not believe in climate change would be a good start. Maybe not voting for tax cuts to the Top 1%. The most important is mind who you vote for up & down ballot. www.newsweek.com/republicans-voted-against-fema-funding-1963980

Our governor of Florida is helping the people after the storm more than the democrat party in charge. All states. Wear is our Florida National Guard?

My home was without power for 4 days..
I.. while experiencing the tiniest bit of survivors guilt.. am into the 2nd of 3 weeks vacationing in the Outer Banks near Ocracoke ..
Anyone trying to compare the response to Katrina to the current efforts for Helena does not understand just how remote the area is.. Petty partisan bullshit .. the Right's calling card ..

There has to be a reason. It could be that the reason is that whiny snowflakes need something to whine about. Or that perpetual victims are on a never ending quest for things to be a victim of. Which are you?

Plenty of survivors that would disagree.

No, the Cajun Navy is just a bunch of good ole boys from the gulf coast that get together and organize relief efforts. You're thinking of the Battle of Dumbkirk.

There has to be a reason. Yes there is a reason. The (D) government has pissed away all our money. And not on US citizens. Other countries and our border invaders. Screw us.
