Kinda cuts against the whole science argument. Outcomes should be irrelevant of prayer or no prayer. The study was explored in Dawkins's "God Delusion". The negative results were modest but measurable. Iirc the hypotheses was that, amongst the faithful, individuals who were, as part of the study, told they were being prayed for thought "shit! This must be serious!" and the anxiety affected outcome. Plausible. Ok Well atryeu stated it as a fact. You are saying it’s a hypothesis as to why the different outcomes You’d have to add a caveat. If one believes in god etc and someone says I’m praying for you, then only those people should be affected, have anxiety. If one is an atheist and someone said they are praying for you, it should have the same impact as saying I’ll drop a pebble in the toilet for you.

It does hurt their likely outcomes though. If people know they're being prayed for equivalent problems the outcomes are worse for people that know vs people that do not. Prayer hurts. The reverse placebo effect? There's a name for that: the nocebo effect.

This is some next level bigotry now. You're a fucking imbecile. It's indecent to throw your religion into people's faces in times like these, cretin, if you had an ounce of savoir vivre you'd know that.

There are people that are annoyed by these shenanigans and believe that you should keep your religious beliefs to yourself unless explicitly asked about them, no means no in these matters too. There's an implicit etiquette about those things in France and most people respect it.

Your comment is so beyond ignorant and you are so dishonest and a bigot yourself, it is pointless to even bother with you on explaining this.

So... in Dave's world, telling someone in a thread like this you will be praying for them is bad manners, but calling someone a scumbag is great? Did I get that right?

Yes, bastard, throwing your superstitious idiosyncrasies into someone's face when you should simply tell them that you love and support them is indecent. Imagine that.

I don't think you have much to stand on here for talking about what is or is not indecent, as if you care.

Of course there are those religious people who are terribly offended by those atheists who don’t volunteer prayers. (See how funny that sounds) Of course that statement is not true. We forgive you. Ha ha.
