The fact that almost 50% of Taylor Swift's fans are from households with under 50k in annual income sure helps explain a lot of those "credit card debt at record highs" and "Americans struggling to get by" stories I'm always seeing in the news.
But thank God Taylor Swift boosted the economy by getting all of those 25 yr old young women to max their credit cards and pay for gas and lodging and such! Everyone's so much better off now!
Swift is more popular and has more money than Que-Anon. Que-Anon is upset about that. 'When fascism comes to America, it will be wearing a pussy hat and wrapped in a rainbow flag.' - Que-Anon, explaining his divorce Nah I've been a fan smitten with Taylor Swift since I saw her in a movie as a high school cheerleader acting like a bubblehead and thought her performance was awesome. I like her music quite a bit. But I wouldn't have gotten caught up in a beanie baby frenzy and maxed out my credit cards to go see her.

Irrelevant. She has more money and is more popular than you are, and contributes more to society. 'When fascism comes to America, it will be wearing a pussy hat and wrapped in a rainbow flag.' - Que-Anon, explaining his divorce

I took music classes in college, and got to appreciate all forms of classical music, including opera, during that time. I also play the fiddle.

Taylor Swift is a very talented girl who puts out fluffy pop music and who has somehow become the world's biggest superstar (at least, at present). Not sure why she should be especially relevant politically, either as a spokesperson or punching bag. Ever heard of K-pop? If not, might want to check them out. They demonstrated their impact on Donald personally, only a few years ago. Considering Gen Z is a voting block that does NOT like conservative views, anything that rallies them is worth noting. Freon Well, maybe you should talk to some more Gen Z people. I think it might challenge the generalization that you hold about their views.

Man, if only you were a mod... ...then LNF would not suck less. Just like another thread you complained about, this thread is not about the entertainment of an entertainer. It's about a politician commenting on the political impact of an entertainer.

Good luck with that. It's not as if it hasn't been tried with a variety of stars.
If Taylor Swift was able to do that, she'd be the first.
GOTV is hard work.
Disagree. Kpop has been doing it for years. Freon I know one person that listens to K-Pop.

How exactly are they mobilizing their fan base? Is it anything like MTV's Rock the Vote? (They may have stopped doing it at this point because I don't really hear or see much about it anymore).
GOTV is hard work. As I said to Cades, ask Beto O'Rourke about that. He's been registering people since his failed US Senate campaign in 2018. But turning those newly registered voters into actual voters is not easy; if it was, he'd be Texas' governor right now. Or ask Battleground Texas - their primary focus is registering voters and GOTV, and they've been doing it for years now with arguably minimal return.
So, no, I don't think Taylor Swift is going to tell people to go vote and you're gonna see some wave of people go vote. Now, if there is some coordinated effort (texts, emails, phone calls, driving people to the polls, etc.), then maybe.
Lol. Really? As just an example, Kpop mobilized its fanbase HERE, in the US, to spam one of Donald's events, tricking it into thinking a ton of people would show. I think you need to do some research. Kpop is an international phenomena, and it has been politically active for over a decade. Most don't even know it exists, and your reaction is a good example of that. Freon People in Korea can buy tickets to a Trump rally. They can't vote in a U.S. election.

Ive got a ton of them on vinyl. Disco regional sounds. The disco tracks coming out of Chicago sound completely different from something like Italian disco. And contrary to popular belief, it never died. There are constantly new tracks being produced weekly. Sure, there's a lot of crap, but the good ones . . .A sample, plz. Here's a couple from the last year or so. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vaWwVl3qDowww.youtube.com/watch?v=X81d7aSJfi0But if you just hate dance music and don't get it at all, you won't like current disco. Disco never died - it basically evolved into house music, but people were still producing disco, it never died, and about ten or fifteen years ago, it came back big. Sorry for the run on.

Those are good! Once upon a time, over half a lifetime ago, I used to DJ. My personal tastes ran to the alternative stuff of the mid-to late 80s, but those two tracks could be put in a set with what I enjoyed.
