He most certainly explained why he's an atheist and what again did you articulate? All I see is: No, I am not very familiar Something, something about Asimov's quote not be about NA Then something about little you "evaluating" Issac Asimov's comment and finding someone with 10 times your intelligence level to have made a "woefully lacking" assessment of religion. It's no wonder you fell for pregnant teenagers impregnated by sky beings, Santa Claus bringing presents to a billion people in a single day, and rabbits somehow dropping candies and chocolates on their special day. Yep, it's no wonder. It is always so funny to me that folks like you have to try so hard to be bigots and mock faith. I don't need to tear others down like that to build up my faith. Merely an observation that your "faith" was just as strong toward Santa and the Easter Bunny. If you continue that to be "tearing down" I suggest that this so called faith of yours may be rubbing off.

I mean seriously, you don't see Christians on here having to constantly create threads or comments mocking atheists to make themselves feel better like you do.

“The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” - Brennan Manning
Coming from a small town, nearly-rural area in the South, I was pretty shocked when I ended up at a massive university with people from all over the world. I was surprised to meet people who were far better people than I was, despite not being Christian. I was equally surprised to see high levels of religious devotion in non-Christians. Weirdly enough, I felt a deeper kinship with the Orthodox Jews and devout Muslims and Hindus than with many of the Christians.
Looking back on it, I shouldn't have been too surprised. The NT epistles are one long "knock it off already" warning, and these people were converted and instructed by the apostles themselves. But it was still beat into my brain that Christians were more moral than everyone else. Just not true.
I suppose my own conversion (?) to atheism was more about coming to see religions - including my own - as products of human culture. They are formed by people in various places and times, their followers change them in response to changing conditions (or discard them), and they address questions and problems that are all too human. "Is there more than this?" is a profoundly human question; it doesn't seem to trouble the galaxies or the sharks.

I grew up in a strong "us vs. them" culture (not just Christians vs. the "rest of the world," but also "our kind of Christians" vs. "pseudo-Christians" like Catholics and Anglicans). I had a similar experience, not so much comparing my religious context with that of others, but finding out that those evil heathens are not such awful people.
