Again I ask: If Florida is falling so hard, why is DeSantis’s approval rating so high there? Old people. So most people there approve of DeSantis, so he must be doing a good job for them. Isn’t that what matters?

Maybe they just didn’t like the alternative It wasn’t a poll about candidates. It’s a poll about his approval rating. What poll New polling from the Florida Atlantic University Mainstreet PolCom Lab shows Floridians remain positive about DeSantis’ work as Governor. About 54% of voters say they approve of “the way Ron DeSantis is handling his job as Governor of Florida.” A strong plurality, 41%, say they strongly approve. By comparison, 43% disapprove of his job performance, with 34% of voters strongly disapproving. Only 3% said they had no opinion, a sign both of DeSantis’ enormous name recognition in the state and the polarizing sentiments he inspires. floridapolitics.com/archives/622494-florida-voters-still-like-ron-desantis-as-governor-and-side-with-him-over-disney/nothing to brag about

So most people there approve of DeSantis, so he must be doing a good job for them. Isn’t that what matters? He has done a pretty good job of creating divisiveness. The retired community comes mostly from NY and New Jersey. They are a strange group who seem little interested in the ideas expressed in the Steve Jobs thread. There's more of a concern for Me and little for Community. Maybe it's because they don't have history (ancestors) or future (children) in Florida.

Retirees come to Florida for a totally different purpose than younger people. Most of them have a nest egg, like the tax breaks there and have very little interest in progressive politics. Because they are old.

Well, I don't live in Florida, but I really don't think older retired folks have as little interest in progressive politics as you seem to think. I know because I'm retired and quite interested in progressive politics. But then I live in California.

Yes, but you have to remember where our generation came from. Things in the social atmosphere was quite different then. Some people just can’t handle social change

We've already gone through this you imbecile. Some convention cancellations and some dude thinking his neighbor might have left aren't examples that Florida is FAILING. We have gone full circle back to where you obviously don't understand what failing is. I'm so sorry that you don't understand the world you live in. Billy.dumbass thinks that a few conventions being cancelled equates to a state failing and then thinks he has a firm grasp of reality. Lol.

Florida just had a record surplus. California on the other hand went from a projected 100b surplus to a 30b plus deficit. But keep posting your lies.

From a previous post about DeSantis' performance:
"By comparison, 43% disapprove of his job performance, with 34% of voters strongly disapproving."
Like you said, nothing to brag about.

He's just another of those 1 step forward, 4 steps back kinda dems, little different than the dems who allowed bush and company to lie us into his for-profit war and commit torture against innocent people. Biden's maga merrick was a last straw for me. I'll wait for the next FDR.
