Is this disease possibly an after effect of scurvy? (Or maybe after affect. Who am I to judge?) I know that Britain is rife with scurvy, which IIRC, they came down with after the Armada raped what they passed off as "their women". . . such a long time ago.
I think the scurvy problem was fixed by the whole limey thing.

Because we value freedom above all else. We have a right to life, you do not. Your government can choose to not cover you at any time. Then what? Are you kidding? Nope.

In the U.S. it's not the government that can choose to not cover you . .. it's a bottom-line driven insurance company .. See how much better that is?

If the treatment is efficacious, available, and approved, you get it. Nobody is excluded from treatment except for medical/moral reasons. The Government doesn't make those decisions. Doctors do, under the same Hippocratic oath as any others. The bureaucracy deciding on available treatments doesn't decide on individual cases, but on whether noovel treatments become available.

If you don't rely on insurance, you save a lot of money. I have a high deductible account and I just tell the providers that I am paying cash. The price drops considerably. Then, I submit the receipt and get it applied to my deductible. Don't rely on insurance.

Then, I submit the receipt and get it applied to my deductible. Don't rely on insurance. Me too. I have not carried insurance since 1996. Except for a brief stint for a company that provided healthcare for all employees (but wouldn't pay me the cash the policy cost so I could handle my own medical care. I always try that first.) You save a *lot* of money. Hell, I just had bloodwork done a couple of months ago. The bill was $545.00. Til they found out I was paying cash. I paid $285. (That's less than a monthly insurance premium to pay for the bloodwork would have cost ... not even factoring in copays.) But that's over now KSU. It's done. You aren't going to get in front of this stampeding herd who has now been trained to think of health insurance as "healthcare." Do what I did a long time ago KSU. Get on the single payer train now while you have some control in shaping its development. Before the mob makes a mess of it. Again. Queshank

The approach taken in 1948 here was not to fight the vested interests but to "stuff their mouths with gold". Worked.

People who lined up in defense of confederate statues pushed that issue *long* past the point of reason. Long past the point of rationality. So irrational and unreasonable responses ... after decades ... should have been expected. People who have been and currently are lining up to defend health insurance companies have pushed that issue *long* past the point of reason. Long past the point of rationality. So irrational and unreasonable responses ... after decades of pain ... are coming. Better to get ahead of it ... Queshank
