Whoever the next president is, and I hope it will be Joe Biden, they will have a tough road ahead of them, considering the extensive damage Trump has done in just four years.
I mention this because the case of Jimmy Carter comes to mind: an eminently Good Man, who lost his re-election bid largely because his goodness couldn't overcome the evil stalking America after the Nixon/Ford debacle. It should be remembered that the "evil" Iranians more or less handed the US presidency to Ronald Reagan on a silver platter.
In other words, Biden will have his work cut out for him. I wish him luck.
