What if the gun lobby got its wish, and everyone in the country now had guns.
Every black person, every hispanic, every woman, everyone.
What would these protests look like then?
Do the white conservatives REALLY want a completely armed nation? They seem quite proud that they are the majority with guns.
I say let's give them what they want.
And once everyone IS armed, would that mean the next battle would be for HOW armed we could be? Your neighbor, who you dislike, has a pistol, so you get a semi-auto? They see your semi-auto, and get an illegal fully auto?

I highly doubt it’s the gun lobby’s wish for everyone to have guns. They simply want to protect our Constitutional right to have guns.
But, to play along, if everyone had guns, it’s only natural for people to want to have the best and most effective guns. That’s why we keep pushing for more powerful weapons for our military.

But, to play along, if everyone had guns, it’s only natural for people to want to have the best and most effective guns. That’s why we keep pushing for more powerful weapons for our military.

The truth is that the police and the military do NOT want people to have the "best and most effective guns". That's because they don't want to be out-gunned when push comes to shove.
Furthermore, it's debatable that the Constitution grants everyone the right to "have guns". It clearly conditions gun ownership on being part of a "well-regulated militia".
Nothing about this creepy little kid Kyle Rittenhouse was well or regulated.

It doesn’t matter what the police or military or government wants. Gun ownership is a right. If I want to own a gun (which I don’t), I have the right to do so.
Yes, it is currently a right, but it is regulated. So there are some guns you cannot own; most machine guns, for example, although it certainly would fit your personality. Hell, an Abrams tank would probably suit your world view, although it would be hard to park.
And it's only a right because that's how the Supreme Court has interpreted the Second Amendment. I can see a day when it is re-interpreted some other way, perhaps. Or maybe even a constitutional amendment process to clarify it one way or the other.
