OK, Qrank's ranting leads me to put it back on ignore.

Who cares? Success or failure doesn’t make it any less vile. While Trump just fluffs the guy at the top of the food chain every chance he gets. I'm not critiquing the "vileness" of Russia. (Should I just assume this "vile" commentary carries over as your own criticism of Obama's targeted assassination of US citizens who worked against his administration?) I'm critiquing the validity of the manufactured and somewhat preposterous narrative that sets their status as a "world power." Queshank Yeah, people totally think Russia is a world power because of its ability to distribute poison. Has nothing to do with the size of its economy, international influence, and military.

Suggestion is, this was not Russian state but someone irritated by the victim shining light on corruption. No. The suggestion is ... Russia isn't very good at it. Wow! 10 deaths of mixed variety and suspicion in 20 years of a 3rd world country going through turmoil and trying to redefine itself after its parent nation went through a complete collapse. /sarcasm Two observations: 1- not terribly noteworthy. In fact its to be expected when a country goes through this kind of turmoil. Hell, far more than 10 people have been shot in political struggles in the past few months in our own "turmoil" as our country collapses, hastened by the self inflicted headshots of the shutdowns. You should do a list of all the survivors. There's a lot of those too. A surprising amount for a country with a badass reputation like Russia's. 2- not terribly many political assassinations for a 3rd world country like Russia. Perhaps they're 2nd world, not 3rd? All I know is ... they're not a 1st world country despite attempts by Western governments to prop them up as a perennial international foil. Queshank If this chap was attacked by a disgruntled corrupt official, it's not Russia that's inept at murder, it's the inept murderer. The cloud of suspicion over mysterious deaths and incapacitations is broader than the few in that link. I think the dodgy geezers are well moody. I'd agree that as a military and economic threat, Russia is insignificant. Couple of points: 1. The Big Struggle is 'twixt democracy and authoritarianism. Russia is on the naughty side. 2. If Russian state hands are on any murders, that's bad. If Russian state hands are helping/being helped by corrupt or criminnal elements, it needs noting.

A friend of mine's wife tried to have an affair with the football team but didn't consummate the affairs so everything was OK ..
Quecrank
It's amazing watching someone who "believes" things with all the conviction of a Baptist preacher spout their inanities.
Let me help you with basic reading comprehension. Something you'll need as you continue to trumpet your scientific credentials.\ The wife is a second rate whore who is so ugly even a group of people who would fuck a glazed doughnut after only a couple of beers wouldn't have sex with her.
Get it yet Ms Newman? Probably not. But hope springs ever eternal.

Big bad scary Russia fails with yet another assassination plot. Continuing their long streak. But be very scared of Russia. They are a world powerhouse. The world trembles when they shrug their shoulders. A world powerhouse that somehow cannot do the one thing governments have always excelled at: Killing people. Queshank Does the victim have to die for the message to be received, loudly and clearly? But yeah, he didn't die!

I'm not sure we're in opposing camps, unless you like country 'n western. In which case I will hunt you down. Russia, I cautiously believe, is a threat to our (y'know... "our") ways of managing some basics, like accountability in Government, freedom of speech, and economic justice. We don't need aircraft carriers and tanks to counter this* we need clear public discourse. We need firm dealings via legal and diplomatic and trade means with the criminal elements in Russia's economic and political elites. We need their dupes and stooges in "our" body politic, economy, media held accountable. Democracy is absolutely the worst form of Government, except for all the others. It's delicate, it's precious, it needs looking after. *actually, maybe we do need tanks, Russia is very good at tanks and their best are at least as good as Abrams and Challenger 2.

Russia alone is still a nuclear threat. However, allied with trumP and the GOPP, they will continue to take down America, NATO, the EEU and any other institution which would hamper or hold Putin accountable.

^ NATO is doing a fine enough job stepping on its own d*ck. It doesn't need Russia's help (and its issues go well beyond Trump's rhetoric and demands for money; they're systemic problems).

Yes. That's why I used it.
The Democrats have demonstrated pretty clearly, especially since 2016, they are the least democratic political force in America. So there's something ... unseemly ... about calling them the "Democratic" party. Just in the past 5 decades, they literally created an oligarchy made up of establishment elitists to prevent popular uprisings of the people. An oligarchy that worked very hard against the will of the people in both 2016 and now in 2020.
And that's not even getting into people who claim to be Democrats not just advocating but actively curtailing speech, free thought and even free association.
Believing the Democrats are champions of democracy is as dumb as believing NAFTA was about "free trade" because that's what the F and the T stand for. Seems to be another branding scheme people on the left fell for.

No. If the victim died, Russia wouldn't be an incompetent and inferior state. Duh.
I mean come on. Barack Obama never missed a single drone assassination target during his time in office. THATS how assassination is done by a serious contender for "superpower status," son.
Russia's over there randomly setting down poisonous drinks and hoping the right person drinks them. And nearly always getting "the mix" wrong so their target walks away. Laughter is the appropriate response. Not more pearl clutching and Judge Smailish antics.
