I read these threads and I wonder if back in the 1930s the supporters of the German workers socialist party were harassing the non socialist supporters for not being progressive enough?
After all, Hitler’s party did garner the most votes.
History never studies the people that lobby and get what they want, and then regret getting it.
Ussr, Cuba, german workers socialist party, China etc. so many examples.

The question has to do with people rallying behind a party or person, and that person turning out to be a dictator maniac...do they ever regret it...do they ever say oops, I was wrong, you were right....
I know the radicals here have a tough time with the question...
as a side, TL, how many times have I schooled you with actual pages and pages of quotes from hitler himself on socialism, or FBI gang data...why is it so embarrassing for you...
as to the nitwit saying trump is the dictator...yea, dictators MO is to practically cut in half the corporate tax rate, lower the tax rate for us, encourage vouchers and charter schools, get rid of countless useless gov't regulations, release thousands and thousands of inmates convicted of minor drug offenses (put in jail by the way, by democrats)...yes, thats exactly what dictators do...

Trump just got done yesterday saying he should be able to run for a 3rd term. He has expanded Executive Power way beyond its traditional role. Complete with his compliments towards various dictators, you seem to be the one who loves authoritarians.

please cite specific cases where he has expanded executive power,,,and please define the "traditional role" you reference...since you reference these two things so quickly, you must have immediate responses handy...as a side, I have no idea what "traditional role" is vs. the actual powers enumerated by the constitution.
I know this is a talking point of the left...quite hilarious, on one of those shows where the reporter goes on the street and asks people about trump, this was one of the common and oft repeated ones....and the reporter asks give me some examples...and the people just keep saying well, you know, he just has done things like hilter or like a dictator...and he asks like what, and they just keep saying you know, dictator things...

You know, now that I think about it...there is no relevance...this is all history...history never repeats itself...there is actually nothing to learn from history...
I think all the politicians who want to raise taxes and take care of us, and give us free stuff are actually proposing groundbreaking ideas...things that have never been proposed by anyone in history, certainly not politicians or people seeking power...come to think of it, promoting class warfare, encouraging chaos in the streets, telling large segments of society its the rich and certain races are the problem...defunding police....yep, all new stuff...it feels so progressive...
and one thing is for certain, if any of this stuff was said by people who came to power, only to abuse the people...I know it will never happen here...we are too smart...those people thru the eons who fell for it across the planet were all stupid...we are way more elite...so much smarter...we are science based

Except now it's months of broken glass. So given that I'm Jewish, and that I (and most Jews, for that matter) lean left of center, it sounds like you are saying that I'm either gullible, and therefore deceived, or that I am a supporter of fascism.
