This thread will collect and showcase some of my favorite wrestling matches and moments.
I’ll begin with last Friday’s AEW match between Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta. The story is that young Yuta - he’s only in his early 20s - wants to prove himself to the Blackpool Combat Club, a team made up three of wrestling’s most decorated and violent veterans. Mox is part of this club. Yuta lost two previous matches to Mox, but has been getting better and better each time. This match was likely he last chance to prove himself worthy of joining the BCC as an apprentice, and he certainly did. The crowd really got behind this young performer. A new star is born!

Next up is another AEW match, this time featuring Anna Jay/Tay Conti vs The Bunny/Penelope Ford in a hardcore street fight. Beautifully brutal!

Isn't it funny that my initial reaction is to say something about gratuitous, senseless violence when just today I watched all of Fist of Fury again? I stopped watching wrestling way back when it featured Sammartino, Koloff and George "The Animal" Steele.

I stopped watching wrestling way back when it featured Sammartino, Koloff and George "The Animal" Steele. Bruno Sammartino was just a tiny bit before my time, although I watched a couple of his matches on YouTube. Around the time I REALLY got into wrestling, Ivan Koloff was a vicious heel and mentor for his “nephew” Nikita Koloff. And George “The Animal” Steele had evolved into a popular good guy in the WWF. Good times!

I've told you! The greatest wrestling match in history was Bobo Brazil vs. The Sheik! Greg I’m sure it was among the bloodiest. Both guys were a bit before my time, but I’ve watched videos. There’s a biography on the Sheik that is coming out soon. I am planning to get it, as old school wrestling fascinates me. Sheik is a legend.

One of AEW’s latest acquisitions is “Limitless” Keith Lee. He is a true powerhouse with a ton of charisma.

The 1st pro wrestling match I seen was Bobo Brazil vs Freddy Blaise at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles they had wrestlers like Chavo Guerrero sr Mondo Guerrero John the Golden Greek Tolos Apache Bull Ramos gorilla monsoon Abdullah the butcher and of course the original Sheik just to name a few. back when wrestling was old school and enjoyable with almost every Heel using a foreign object to win. I thought maybe AEW would bring back some of the old school tactics but in my opinion AEW is just the minor league version of WWE. compared to the old school pro Wrestling today's wrestlers are boring BUT I still watch the watered down wrestling of today.

I'm an old WcW fan and and ECW guy. I loved the Monday Night Wars but after Vince bought everybody out I stopped watching his crap and started getting into local promotions. TNA and ROH were my fallbacks. Still don't care for WWE stuff except when it concerns Shinsuke Nakamura or Tommasso Chiampa.

The company was famous for its hardcore style and edgy angles, but my favorites were the technical guys like Benoit, Malenko, Eddy Guerrero and then (later) Lance Storm.

Tommy Dreamer far and away. Sandman and, of course, New Jack. But then it was ECW and almost everyone was pretty good. My favorite faction was the Blue World Order.

I'M SOOOOO tired of this Bloodline story line. It gets real old. They must be making $$$ on the merch to let it go on this long.

I really wouldn’t know, as I stopped watching the WWE around 2019 or so. I currently only watch AEW and (occasionally) Impact and NJPW. However, with Vince gone and Triple-H now in charge of creative, I’m excited for the possibilities. If things improve as I hope they will, I will probably start watching again. As I understand it, the problem with the Bloodline is that the WWE hasn’t really built up top baby faces that can pose a threat to Reigns. Cody Rhodes could do it, but he’s still injured. Randy Orton is hurt, too.

Check out Julia Hart’s scary fall. She was supposed to crash through the table, but overshot it and bumped her head hard. Thankfully she’s okay.
