What are some things you are most looking forward to in 2022? For me, I am looking forward to (pandemic willing) traveling for the first time since late 2019. The pandemic really put a damper on our travel plans in 2020, and ever since then we've pretty much limited our leisure activities to the occasional dinner-and-a-movie outings. I haven't even gone to any live sports event (although Scott has). This May, we are hoping to travel to Las Vegas to attend All Elite Wrestling's "Double or Nothing" ppv event. We had tickets to the event in 2020, but of course that event was canceled due to COVID restrictions. AEW is by far my favorite wrestling promotion, but I have not yet been able to see a show in person. It will feel so good to travel again and get to spend a whole weekend enjoying AEW. I plan to attend it all: fan fests, autograph sessions, tv tapings, the ppv itself, etc. Gonna make up for lost time! COVID is once again starting to subside. Today, we had less than 1,000 new cases for the first time in ages. (Just a couple of weeks ago, we had a record 6,000+.) I look forward to doing more things as things open up. On a more trivial note, I am also looking forward to the digital release of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and the resumption of the final season of "The Walking Dead."

When I told you to make up for lost time, that wasn't exactly what I had in mind...

I'm looking forward to spring in the hills of NYS. I'm looking forward to my granddaughter's fourth birthday. I'm looking to follow the BoSox again, from a respectable distance. I'm looking forward to a long overdue sojourn. And also to ATF/TL's return.

Baseball restarting—hopefully those people can get it together and figure out this work stoppage. Traveling south again (we go in a couple of weeks). Summer.

The return of rain to Northern California - we haven't seen any for a month. We have plenty of rain here, more than enough and fortunately we also have sunny days. Nothing seems sillier here than your lawn sprinklers. We don't need them at all. Besides it's silly to water your lawn, it can endure a lot of dry weather... It your pampered asses that "need" your lawns to be green... Boy, are you stupid! Instead of wasting your resources on idiotic things like that you should send your surpluses to countries that need them, instead of sending armies there and waging wars against the locals. People would like you better if you did that instead of what you do, assholes!

Waiting for it to get warmer so I can hit the road on my motorcycle.

There's about a 65% chance of rain here on February 20th. If it does rain, it will end one of the longest winter dry spells in my memory. Six weeks.
We'll see.

Well, given the groundhog's 35% accuracy record, I'll pass on getting one's opinion on dry vs wet winters. Although it might be useful as an example of an incorrect forecast.

Except when the same day keeps coming back, then it's a 100% accurate...

Perhaps you're confusing a calendar day with a weather/climate prediction?
Yah thunk?

But we don't have any surpluses, only deficits.

Well, didn't take long for the 65% chance of rain on 2-20-22 to disappear.
Who knows when it will rain here again. If ever.

Don't tell me that that doesn't exist, I wouldn't believe you. No surpluses, yeah, sure. Did you know that the average American throws away three quarter of the food they buy? And that's not counting the enormous quantities of "expired selling date" food that your supermarkets throw in the trash, every day!! You people are nothing but walking/talking surpluses.

Yeah, I was making a joke about the movie "Groundhog Day". Don't tell me you've never heard of it.

Yes i have both heard and seen the movie "Groundhog Day". It's a good one. But your reference to it was rather incongruous. Perhaps due to your frenchified outlook?
Here in California we normally don't get any rain from May to October. The winter months are when we get rain (or snow). So the current lack of rain is a bit worrisome.
As for watering lawns, it's necessary in a hot rainless summer climate. I suppose one could have a barren desert-like yard instead. My place as a well which I use to water the lawn, veggie garden, and potted trees hither and yon. I seem to have a green thumb; nearly everything here flourishes.
