Clue #13 - everyone at her school wears funny hats, she escapes to the coast, but is hunted after killing a soldier.
Clue #14 - they flee, to a place believed to be cursed, through tunnels under islands in this historical landscape. The rains start.

Doesn't sound like a movie I've seen, heard of, or want to see. You probably would like it and may have seen it. Stay tuned as the clues become more and more of an effort to shed my current position of authority.

no chimneysweeps needed. This feeble attempt to make all movies about flying ladies only qualifies for one clue, but it's a doosie. Clue #15 - the interpreter shouts, claps and demands that the assembly of loudly cackling women tell him which way the tall man went. All the women point in different directions and laugh.

Are we the only ones playing again? Wild guesses anyone? Mary Poppins has already been used.

Nobody is guessing any more, Billy. I wasn't aware that anyone had tried. The new clues were being written before you posted as I had not realized that you quit again. Oh well, a wasted effort. I'm not sure what type of clue you are looking for unless the movie pool is reduced to only movies that you have seen. I guessed correctly on 2 of yours that I had not seen and made other reasonable attempts, all from Google searches of your clues. There are multiple couples of clues here that lead directly to the movie or to a short list with the movie included, but apparently I have misunderstood the game.

Presumably you were aware of the rules before this last movie, and as I recall you agreed to them. Here is a refresher:
This thread is for someone to post clues about a movie they are thinking about. Others can guess what movie the poster has in mind. The first person who guesses the movie correctly gets to post their own mystery movie.
Note: the movie plot doesn't have to be a mystery, but it should have a plot and not be just a series of unrelated skits. A documentary would not suffice as it generally has no plot. The title of the movie is the mystery here. The movie could be about anything. The movie should be a theatrical full length feature film, not a TV movie. And it should be a real movie with sound, with actual people actors, not just their voices, animations or cartoons.
There are no limitations as to where the movies are created, as long as they are relatively well known. So, Europe, USA, Asia, etc. are fine. Hollywood films are OK for this game, as are foreign made films. The movie should have garnered positive critical acclaim and/or at least one industry positive award/nomination. If nobody guesses the film title within a reasonable number of clues, and all announce they give up, then it will be incumbent upon the puzzler to reveal the title of the film.
After the movie title is solved, time permitting, the puzzler should document the clues and how they are supported by the film.

I wasn't aware that I was to check in every hour or be admonished with a reading of the rules.
So, sorry that I had something more important that came first.
Do you only want movies that you are familiar with?
Do you use Google to search with the clues?
Earlier I said I had guessed 2 movies that I have never seen, after looking back I realized that it was 3. One of them wasn't a winner as you posted first. I thought that one by bamabeau was too easy because he used a word that was invented for the movie. Any search with that word would only result in that movie.
I chose an Oscar winner that I had seen years ago from about the 20 minute mark and wanted to see the entire movie. I also left a single clue that would have brought up several lists of 5 or 10 movies that included this movie. Within the 1st day there was an obvious combination that would have easily revealed the name.
I'll be glad to do more later. As you didn't instruct for what happens now, I say again, it's your thread. My vote, or whatever, is for you to go ahead.

Then you should have told me yesterday that you weren't going to try. Don't you hate it when people make the font bigger and bolder when they demand something.

What happens now? Since everyone has given up on guessing your movie, you should reveal the name of the movie. And it would be nice if you were to explain your clues, like I did with my movie.
Then we can move on.

Before I blurt out the name, we have at least one, possibly 2, other players who haven't said he/they quit.
Dave? Oombabeau?

DOA and then about an hour later the reading of the rules in big bold letters. Do you do internet searches? Looking back, you started making obviously wrong guesses very early on. It just made me wonder if you are mostly guessing from movies that you have seen; otherwise, you should have gotten this one early on. Let's give the others 24 hours from the time you quit. If we haven't heard from them by then I'll revel the name. Any chance of you answering my questions?

1) Actually I posted "I quit". What about that wasn't clear to you? 2) Where did I ask you to respond every hour? 3) I posted the rules because it looked like you were ready to move on without revealing the name of the movie and without explaining the clues. 4) My search technique is proprietary. My guesses (except for Mary Poppins) were based on my research. 5) Don't act so butt hurt.
