I don't simply look our leader as the person who gets me what I want. There is WHO the person is, how they project us to the world, how they work with the other party and our allies, what their vision is, how they implement change, and on and on. If all you look at is, 'what will this person get me', then it makes sense that you like Trump. Has has shown that even a non-curious bumpkin can become massively wealthy and powerful. That is YOUR American dream. To the rest of us, even if he completely delivered on what he promised, he would still be unfit for the office. This is not a policy difference, or even a party difference. This is a disgust for someone who stands for everything America is NOT. This is a president who is the worst of us. Obama did far more for me and my fellow Americans than Trump ever did.
There has been a pattern emerge over the past 30 years: The GOP, when it holds the power, fouls things up for the average American and rewards the very wealthy. Then the Dems get in and start to restore the lives of the people. We saw it with Bush41 ficking it all up, then Clinton fixing it, then Bush43 ficking it up, Obama fixing it, and now Trump is ficking it up royally. It will be up to Joe Biden to fix it again. Hopefully this November the Dems will get back in again and start to repair all the damage that Trump & Co. has done to America.
