Can someone please explain how eliminating the payroll tax is going to help the unemployed?
I can't believe some of you here.... Sounds better than releasing felons from prison...

I can't believe some of you here. Trump is not only doing things to help the people but also the employers so they can stay in business. Payroll taxes, which are distinct from income taxes, are paid by both employers and employees, with workers paying 6.2 percent of their salaries up to $137,000 to fund Social Security and employers matching that amount. Sounds better than releasing felons from prison, voting with no ID or signature recognition. The democrats have one third of their over 1700 page plan that they can’t get Trump to agree with that has nothing to do with the unemployment or the pandemic. It seems as though they want to make things worse right now to scare the people into not voting for Trump, and that is a fact.
I wonder how those on social security will continue to receive checks if no one is paying into it.

Donald has never seen a deficit he won't ignore or file bankruptcy to avoid.

Well, the feds have been tapping into the SS trust fund for decades for non-SS purposes. That's an outstanding debt that must be reimbursed, and then when that is exhausted Congress will need to make up the difference. Already there have been proposals to raise the income cap for SS payroll contributions, currently set at about $137k/yr income. Eliminating the cap entirely would be best. I have no doubt that losing SS benefits would be a major hit for most seniors. I doubt it will happen, but even prior to Trump's latest proposed scam there was talk at after about 2037, when the theoretical trust fund is exhausted, SS benefits could be reduced to just 70% of current awards. Perhaps earlier if Trump gets his way. If this problem is not addressed, any number of elected officials may be shown the door. Most seniors do not like getting ripped off.

The same way that any other program will receive the money that has been allocated to them. You don't really believe that any Congressperson will allow all outgoing money to be stopped, do you? How will they get their money? How will their favorite programs get the money?

So, no one concerned about the constitutionality of all this?
You'd think the people who were up in arms about Obama's use of executive orders would be howling right now.

See page 1: And this doesn’t even get to the idea that, as far as I can tell, the Constitution does not grant the President the power to give out loans to the people absent an authorization from Congress.

Biden in 2011: Payroll Tax Cut Won't Hurt Social Security, Medicare Biden, who personally negotiated President Barack Obama's payroll tax cut legislation as his vice president, praised such a move repeatedly, including in a 2011 USA Today op-ed that said it was "just plain wrong" that such a cut would threaten Social Security and Medicare. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wrote in a 2011 tweet about Obama's payroll tax cut legislation that if you were stalling such a move, you were "putting politics before recovery." Guest stressed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also extolled the same payroll tax cut nearly a decade ago, calling it a "victory for all Americans" in a press release. www.newsmax.com/newsfront/payroll-tax-cut-pelosi/2020/08/09/id/981337/
Look.. I know it'll be difficult for you but just TRY to be honest once in awhile.
President Obama's payroll tax cut legislation targeted 2 percentage points .. Not the same as Trump's elimination now is it? .

Can someone explain to me what payroll taxes have to do with releasing felons from prison or voting with no ID? Or is this another Archie rant with no coherent thought?
That is what is in the list of things that is to do for the help of the people because of the pandemic that the democrat party wants which is why Trump has to take charge and have done what we want done. Do you understand yet what the (D) *&^ party has become, “comrade”. I am surprised that the (D)) (*& party has not yet blamed Tramp for the earth quake in the Carolina’s. They want open borders, non-citizens to vote, you take care with your money of anyone even if they don’t belong here. Do you know what they are up to yet? Wise up., “Comrade”. If they are in power, kiss your country good bye.

If we didn’t have Obama’s cut, maybe we wouldn’t need any now. Obama was not a very good president no matter what you think. You are not very bright either. Trump has fixed most of the problems caused by previously presidents both (D) and (R). And all the countries taking advantage of us are now hiding under their desk. This pandemic is the only thing putting the brakes on us rocketing upward. And who do you think has caused that? Speak up, I can’t hear you. Are you sure it was an accident spread in the world? No, I don’t know. But I wonder.

I take people for what they are, good, bad, stupid, intelligent, or just a plain enemy. And looking at the two political parties that are going to run my country, in our history, the last two democrat presidents were Harry Truman and John Kennedy. Few and far between in the democrat program. And if you look at all since Kennedy, it looks like the republican party seems to love freedom and prosperity a lot more than socialist democrat position on relax we are all equal, turn in your money and we will make us all the same, no no no, give me your guns, those criminals don’t mean to rob or hurt you, we will make them happy like us. BS comrade.

Wait a minute. Eliminating the payroll tax for employees means that the employer now only has to pay half what they were in pay roll tax. Don’t forget, the employer was paying you full pay minus the percent for you that they would have paid you if it did not exist. So it is all their money being paid anyway. Now they will pay only half.

Payroll tax? Not only that. Most of you don't have any idea.
You people have no idea what American manufacturing costs for each employee. I mean big companies like My GM which I love and think is a great company, quality vehicles and treat the employees great. The employees may be paid from 25 to 35 dollars an hour. But it costs the company at least 80 dollars an hour for each employee. The holiday pay, the medical ins. the workman’s comp. ins. the pensions, vacation pays, SS payroll tax, and I don’t even remember what else. So you earn 35 an hour and on top of that it cost the company another 45 an hour. Nice huh?

Unfortunately there is no IQ test required for posting on LNF.
It is slightly entertaining to see the conservative morons so consistently miss the point. But it doesn't make up for the tedium of wading through their inanity.
