Remember the old, original Liberty News Forum?
Anybody ever find out what happened to the guy who ran that one, who went only by the name "Admin"?
I *think* I saw posts stating he was ill, but then he just disappeared, and the forum eventually went dead (probably because a nominal fee wasn't paid).
So I am wondering: did he die? Did get sick of it and become a hermit? Anybody have a clue?
I can't say I was friends with the guy, but he did have some redeeming qualities, despite being rather conservative.
Just don't ask me to name them.

I never saw anything beyond guessing. I think you and I even discussed this via pm or email. To disappear for a while before allowing the site to just silently shut down seems out of character. As much as I hate to say it, unless he told somebody something, his passing away seems the most likely answer. |

Passing away seems like the most obvious answer, since he did quite literally just disappear a few months before the forum expired. Too bad, didn't know much about him but seemed like a nice guy. Sometimes got easily manipulated by the conservative posters but was always cordial and would sometimes PM me to talk about the stock market.
Did the same thing happen to Bert?

I ran Bert off the CP and Solar's LNF before turning my attention
to retroactively changing older posts there until they blocked me.
As much as we disliked Bert, Solar and taxed liked him even less.
They said that he was an intolerable behind the scenes whiner,
often trying to take for himself Moderator powers, deleting posts
and attempting to ban people, and causing them constant grief.
I concentrated on making Bert miserable, making them choose between us.
They initially re-instated me, causing him to quit. Then they banned me.
