- Decreased commitment of church-goers and dwindling financial resources

I feel for them. They work long hours dealing with all sorts of people in need, yet themselves are often isolated and lonely. Religious beliefs aside, I wouldn't want the job.
It must be disheartening to study so hard, work such long hours, deal with such difficult problems, struggle to rub two nickels together, yet watch the congregation dwindle to a few old people and a handful of their grandchildren. What am I even doing here? Why did God bother to call me? Did God even call me, or did I make it up? Why is God allowing his church to evaporate? Am I screwing up the preaching or the ministry? How do I fix this? It must be an awful burden.
