Quanta Magazine is an editorially independent online publication of the Simons Foundation covering developments in physics, mathematics, biology and computer science.
Undark Magazine described Quanta Magazine as "highly regarded for its masterful coverage of complex topics in science and math." The science news aggregator RealClearScience ranked Quanta Magazine No. 1 on its list of "The Top 10 Websites for Science in 2018." In 2020, Quanta Magazine received a National Magazine Award for General Excellence from the American Society of Magazine Editors for its "willingness to tackle some of the toughest and most difficult topics in science and math in a language that is accessible to the lay reader without condescension or oversimplification."
The articles in the magazine are freely available to read online. Several publications like Scientific American, Wired, The Atlantic, and The Washington Post, as well as international science publications like Spektrum der Wissenschaft, have reprinted articles from Quanta Magazine.
Immunization is also making once-rare or nonexistent genetic variants of pathogens more prevalent, presumably because vaccine-primed antibodies can’t as easily recognize and attack shape-shifters that look different from vaccine strains. And vaccines being developed against some of the world’s wilier pathogens — malaria, HIV, anthrax — are based on strategies that could, according to evolutionary models and lab experiments, encourage pathogens to become even more dangerous.
THAT'S the actual source of what the article writer was talking about, and it sure as hell ain't the National Enquirer.
See how stupid you look when you attack the messenger rather than dissecting the message?
Evolutionary biologists aren’t surprised that this is happening. A vaccine is a novel selection pressure placed on a pathogen, and if the vaccine does not eradicate its target completely, then the remaining pathogens with the greatest fitness — those able to survive, somehow, in an immunized world — will become more common. “If you don’t have these pathogens evolving in response to vaccines,” said Paul Ewald, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Louisville, “then we really don’t understand natural selection.”
Yet don’t mistake these findings as evidence that vaccines are dangerous or that they are bound to fail — because undesirable outcomes can be thwarted by using our knowledge of natural selection, too. Evolution might be inevitable, but it can be coaxed in the right direction.
I see why you posted a quack pot, the actual article disagrees with all your best practices. (Also notice how covid is not mentioned in the real article).
Thank you for proving that your original link was full of shit.... like I said.... Once again, you dive into the stupidity of a strawman argument. This article and the underlying info from Quanta, indicates that variants emerge in VACCINATED folks. No one claimed that COVID existed in the original article...not likely, since it was published in 2018.
It's stupid to call the article author a "quack pot" (were you aiming for "crack pot" or "quack" and missed?) when he referenced a legitimate and reliable source.
Here's another tidbit in the article that sounds very much like the COVID vaccines:
To conquer these diseases, some researchers have been developing immunizations that prevent disease without actually preventing infections — what are called “leaky” vaccines. And these new vaccines may incite a different, and potentially scarier, kind of microbial evolution.
A "leaky" vaccine is the perfect description of the COVID jab. It doesn't seem to prevent infection or spread, hence the "leaky" part. An asymptomatic or mildly sick (fully vaccinated) individual can move around freely, spreading the disease, adding to the trasil of mutations and variants.

It was perfectly valid, he was making shit up out of thin air. Nothing he said was supported by the actual source.
You know the conclusion of every single piece of shit you post and twist is still "get your damn shot". I don't think you're capable of learning, I don't think you even read your own articles.

Oh my Gawd.. This is fucking HILARIOUS ...
I give you actual science and you insult everyone with moronic tripe from an anti-vaxx freelance conspiracy crackpot, real estate salesman and part time pseudoscience propagandist that only the most science illiterate douchenozzles .. this is where you come in.. would believe. .. And then you have the u.n.b.e.l.i.e.v.a.b.l.e. arrogance to try and foist that bullshit on ME.. your intellectual superior..
You did promise me something more idiotic than your Confederate Memorial hallucinations and damn if you didn't make good on that promise.. You are indeed the consummate fool..
Listen, BUTT-PLUG, you've made it clear that you are too stupid to attack the content of what I posted and that you are too much of a lemming to question or doubt the veracity of the counter intuitive idea that those who are unvaccinated offer any resistance that would create a mutation.
You look just like the last moron who went after the messenger, who is doing nothing but referencing a legitimate scientific magazine to make his case.
Here's the actual article:

By the way, here's fair warning if you respond "I'm not black" to the moniker "BUTT-PLUG"; I'm told that most BUTT-PLUGS ARE black, so be careful. Bump for the guy who likes changing other folks' posts without a word to the original author. But does plenty of name calling himself. F'king hypocrite.

Buttplug Like your new signature...it's really you. Ah.. So you're going with the devastating "I know you are but what am I" .. And why not since you're still the playground punching bag..
I have a little time now so let's get back to kicking you in the nuts.. First, how'bout we leave your little pop-science post in the dust bin of inanity and look at some facts.. (that means things that are true rather than things that you believe) Researchers in the United States and India have presented the first known evidence that the rollout of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination is restricting the evolutionary and immune escape pathways accessible to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
Venky Soundararajan from nference Labs, in Cambridge, Massachusetts and colleagues found that the diversity of SARS-CoV-2 lineages is declining at the country-level as rates of mass COVID-19 vaccination increase.
The researchers also found that compared with unvaccinated COVID-19 patients, vaccinated individuals who developed breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infection harbored viruses with significantly lower diversity in the B cell epitopes that are leveraged following vaccination.
“This study demonstrates that mass vaccination may serve as an antigenic impediment to the evolution of fitter and more transmissive SARS-CoV-2 variants, emphasizing the urgent need to stem vaccine hesitancy as a key step to mitigate the global burden of COVID-19,” writes the team.
When the researchers analyzed the relationship between vaccination rates and lineage entropy in 25 countries where more than 25% of the population was fully vaccinated, they found that the decline in lineage diversity was indeed correlated with increased rates of mass vaccination.
Strikingly, we find the diversity of the SARS-CoV-2 lineages is declining at the country-level with increased rate of mass vaccination (n = 25 countries, mean correlation coefficient = −0.72, S.D. = 0.20). Given that the COVID-19 vaccines leverage B-cell and T-cell epitopes, analysis of mutation rates shows neutralizing B-cell epitopes to be particularly more mutated than comparable amino acid clusters (4.3-fold, p < 0.001). Prospective validation of these macroscale evolutionary patterns using clinically annotated SARS-CoV-2 whole genome sequences confirms that vaccine breakthrough patients indeed harbor viruses with significantly lower diversity in known B cell epitopes compared to unvaccinated COVID-19 patients (2.3-fold, 95% C.I. 1.4-3.7). If one were to believe your nonsense then the variants would be primarily coming from large vaccinated populations.. Much to your embarrassment.. they aren't. Perhaps even you've noticed that the variants are emerging in countries whose populations are largely UNVACCINATED ..
COVID appears to be in retreat in the U.S. and other nations that have widespread access to vaccines. But some developing countries with high infection rates have become hotspots for viral variants that may be more transmissible or resistant to vaccines—and these variants can quickly cross national borders. For example, the B.1.167.2 variant (now dubbed Delta) that was first detected in India has spread to more than 70 countries and regions, including the U.S.

Oh, poor little butt-plug, you're so cute when you try to compete with the adults here. It's hilarious that you think you have a bloody clue.
The reduction in the availability of B cell epitopes is the kind of pressure that pushes a virus to mutate. Of course, viral lineages will be reduced under pressure from the vaccine induced antibodies, but this will also force the mutations as the virus attempts to preserve its existence. In the unvaccinated, there is no resistance, and little pressure for the virus to mutate. It's a buffet for the virus in the unvaccinated; why would it need to change when there's no pressure.
The effectiveness of the vaccines is waning rapidly, down below 50% against the Delta variant. It's a "leaky" vaccine, which allows the infection of the vaccinated and further transmission to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people that come in contact. It's also known that viruses under pressure may dwindle temporarily until they an muster a mutation, which may be what we are seeing in the studies above.
....there is strong evidence for immune escape, and that inoculation under pandemic pressure with these leaky vaccines is driving the creation of more lethal mutants that are both newly infecting a younger age demographic, and causing more Covid-related deaths across the population than would have occurred without intervention. That is, there is evidence that the vaccines are making the pandemic worse.
It is clear that we are seeing a temporal immune depression immediately following the inoculations [see World Meter Global Covid deaths counts following inoculation dates] and there are immunosuppressive regions on spike proteins, as well as Syn-2, that could be likely causing this, through a T-cell mediated mechanism. If we do not stop this vaccine campaign until these issues can be investigated, we may see a phenomenon such as we see in chickens with Marek’s disease.

Nice try, though, plug.

I can’t wait for Greg to educate us on how if you get covid there is a 20 percent chance you die
No wonder they are so hysterical.
