Another month....(seriously) after 3.5 years, and more years of waiting on congress we're finally going to have it, both a healthcare bill and an immigration bill all at the end of the month.
It's finally happening!

Meanwhile, today I got my first appointment for eye laser work under general anæsthetic, because the manual style isn't working (basically I'm a big wuss about my eyes. Call it a phobia).
I'll have in - out 1 day treatment, probably twice, local to me but with a choice of three hospitals.
Also this week, my daughter has dental treatment for an enamel issue and a diagnosis of auditory processing disorder (unrelated, obviously) for which a specialist team will see her in a couple of weeks. This team is linked to the school, where adjustments to teaching will be made as part of holistic treatment.
I'm also getting CBT for my Bosnia/Northern Ireland mental health issues.
I pay taxes, of course, but it looks like my total outgoings are about the same as, or less than, my equivalents in US employment. Did I mention that I'm a type 1 diabetic? But I can change job?
I just changed job. We discussed salary, and which car I would like.
Health care was not mentioned. Why would it be? It's not an issue for an employer. It's nothing to do with my reward package.
My neighbour is unemployed. He and his family have exactly the same access to excellent, world class healthcare as my new boss, who is a millionaire several times over.
Your system is mystifying. And about twice the cost of ours.

Let's see. Any POTUS can only sign any legislation that has been Passed by both the House and the Senate? Bills usually begin in the House, although occasionally they do begin in the Senate. Presidents can also issue "edicts" for lack of a better word, and those are law, until a President comes along who doesn't like the "edict" and he gets rid of it. President Trump did that in the beginning of his administration with the "edicts" that President Obama had written and signed, and they were no longer law. I'll wait and see what is happening. Only bills for raising revenue have to originate in the House of Representatives. All other types of legislation can start in either house. As it stands, Trump has no major proposals for healthcare. Claiming otherwise is just bullshit.
