Charlie Watts dead. Stones are over. Drummers are probably the most replaceable member of a band, sometimes they spontaneously combust and are replaced and no one notices.  The Stones were planning on touring without Watts this year, bet the tour goes on in his memory. |

Saw them once in Tampa. They were incomparable. But they should fvcking quit now, while they have the best reason ever, and quit embarrassing themselves. Who would have thought a band with their legacy could ever live long enough to tarnish that legacy? |

I'd wonder if any other poster has ever spoken to any other poster on the phone? Or met in person? The forum where LL et al. migrated to had many members who had actually met others in person. I'm still up for limey in Boston if Greg is. |

I am of the opinon that drummers are the soul of any rock band. Even if the Stones tour without Watts, I'm sure they will have another drummer in his spot.
Combustible or otherwise.

Wow, Nyte_Byrd, goose and jeff are going back some. I remember Jeff as the guy who would appear in the middle of a thread like a jack in a box to make a couple of sarcastic remarks and also his unusual word association. I mean you would take his "expressions" and find maybe a dozen hits on the net, a rarity, given that the most unlikely, faulty ones get typically hundreds if not thousands of hits. Aside from that I couldn't for the life of me remember what he was at, except that he was definitely on the side of religion. |
