I've made criticizing the violence of the police and the government a major focus on LNF (along with economic issues) since 2005, during Dubya's reign. Anyone who has been a regular participant/reader of this forum should know that. You've been here long enough to glean the pattern. So? If you knew that background about me it would not have made any sense to say that I think the violence started with Trump. Correct me if I am wrong but Trump was elected in 2016 which is more than a few years later than 2005. |

That's a cute posture for someone who never criticizes the police and supports the DHS response.Having read your posts over the years, I believe you will always find a way to resort to insults and personal attacks. This passage is a great example. You can't wait to move the focus off the subject at hand and on to me personally. There you go lying now. I said that when cops are wrong, I say so. Nice. Well, let's see it. Link me to one of these posts critical of the DHS or the police response to the protest. I'm not sure it is an outright insult but you are eager to make me the subject of discussion. That much is clear. |

I would love to see an example. For this is something I tend to catch other people doing regularly. I call it "whataboutery."
I am genuinely interested to see if I can be shown to be doing the same.
I have my doubts that a single example will be found, let alone a pattern.

I said ...when Trump sent them in. Quite a bit different than making it sound like I said that you said the violence started with Trump. Look if you want to play word games, spin and take things out of context then let's both move on before it digresses any further. If anyone cares, which I doubt they do they can read for themselves what I said. Okay, well I could have misunderstood. Okay, well I could have misunderstood. If your point was that I don't believe the local police were violent in those weeks before DHS was sent in, then you are truly ignorant about what I believe. First it's maybe you misundersood, then you double down on the name calling all after saying that you didn't do it.  How about knocking off the act that you are so civil. You started off with a condescending tone as you most often do and not just with me. Hence the Einstein crack from me. You simply saying that perhaps I don't know what you believe would have been too easy...and civil, so you triple down on the use of the word ignorant. My comments are there if anyone doubts what I said. I rest my case. You say nutty things that betray a deep ignorance or misunderstanding, while being rude and insulting, and then expect me to be civil? I have no problem being rude to people. If you spent anytime on LNF, you would know that. |

That’s about on par with the notion being put forward by this article. It’s hilarious to see some of our radical left brethren piling on.

Its not really about either. “I hate to say it, but it looks like this president is doing a dress rehearsal for martial law, sending in federal forces to take over police duties in city after city for political purposes,” the mayor told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Monday. “It is frightening and it’s making things worse. It has not improved public safety, it has decreased public safety.” DHS came in and started using over-the-top tactics. People being people, they responded by ratcheting up their protest even further. Didn't many on the right try to pin Ferguson on Obama? I always smiled at that claim. Of course Obama didn't send in a secret police force. Had he, I definitely would have joined my rightwing friends with their claim that he was partially to blame for escalating things. |
