Right-Wing Nutjobs have been trying for years to discredit and ultimately end the Postal Service..
It's an extension of their war on the poor and middle class... people who depend on the service and often vote Democrat . They'll do anything to place obstacles in their paths.

Since COVID makes voting by mail a necessity, is it not the responsibility of the president to find a way to ensure the efficiency of the mail system to facilitate the process, even if for just this one election?
I would expect this from any president, given the circumstances. This is the preservation of our most treasured right, to vote.

We've been over this before, PP.
The Post Office has an operational budget that is balanced, not in debt.
The problem is that Congress has forced the PO to fund in advance pension plans - far beyond what private industry does. It is this burden that is sending the PO budget over the edge. It needs to be reformed, but guess who is blocking that. Perhaps they want to do away with the PO and farm it all out to for-profit companies, run by cronies of the GOP elite? If so, you ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to jacked up prices.
