"Still, if Bolton is able to move forward with the book's planned release, the DOJ is asking the court to seize any profits from its publication, citing a Supreme Court precedent from 1980 forfeiting the royalties a former CIA officer made on a book about his time in Vietnam that circumvented prepublication review. Lamberth may be more receptive to that argument, as he posed tough questions to Bolton's attorney about the decision to proceed with the book's publication without express authorization." thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/503617-federal-judge-appears-skeptical-of-blocking-bolton-book-release?ampDelicious!!!! I don't have a dog in this race but am enjoying the palace drama.
Alt-right populism vs. neo-conservatism. Bleh.

FWIW, I'm sure he got a nice advance to tide him over.

Special thanks to Trump for turning this book into a bestseller through constant advertising though!

"I don't really understand why he decided to take that risk," Lamberth said, suggesting that Bolton should have sued the government when he realized written approval would not be forthcoming."
Um, I can. Because Trump just wants to tie it up in the snail pace world of the court system for years until he's out of office or, at the very least, the election is over. No different than public disclosure of his long promised tax returns. The claim of "classified information" is pretty much the new version of "a tax audit."

Well, since we have such geniuses as Quank and Stu_Ruth assuring use that Trump is a shoo-in to win in November, because he's such a stable genius, perhaps it's worth forfeiting some book royalties just to get this book out to help defeat Orange Julius a second term.
And, don't forget, Mary Trump's tell-all exposé of Mangolini's most embarrassing moments is also slated to hit the bookstands before long.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden is saying and doing nearly all the right things to maintain his crushing preliminary poll lead over Cheetolini.

No surprise. Trump's argument was that the book was both full of top secret classified information but they were also lies. Quite the contradictory argument.

Much appreciated links. I've read the first few pages and Bolton has an easy, conversational writing style. It'll be easy to blast through this and see what the turd has to say. I'm actually curious.
How do you like that "my approach to accomplishing things in government has always been to absorb as much as possible about the bureaucracies where I served (State, Justice, the United States Agency for International Development) so I could more readily accomplish my objectives" line in his first chapter? "His" objectives. lol.
Is there a line ever written that more clearly exemplifies the disconnect between people in government and the people they're supposed to be serving?

OK, a Fox News host claims he is bored by a negative book about his Fearless Leader?
What a shocker.

Chris Wallace is relatively fair and has questioned the Orange Messiah before. On the other hand, it's not supposed to be an "entertainment" type of book. Political meetings involving policies are hardly all that interesting and Bolton is not a professional writer who knows how to spice it up with entertaining stories. So, this type of critique is silly on its face.
