Then you should move to California, where there's a new law designed to treat hogs more humanely.

No thank you, but that's good. Chickens too I think.

And of course the right wingers are raising hell about how nobody will be able to buy bacon in California once the new law is put into effect.
Uh-huh.
The hog farms and processing plants are, of course, dragging their feet on complying with the new regs. Which ensure at the very least a hog sow can turn around in her crate. Not a whole lot to ask. It's OK by me. I haven't et bacon for at least a year anyway. It's not particularly healthy anyway. Loaded with saturated fat, sodium, and probably nitrates as well. I admit it can be quite tasty, but that's probably because our taste buds haven't quite kept up. When we evolved, fat and salt were probably at a premium in nature. So of course we acquired a taste for it.
Nothing quite like a BLT on toast.
OK, I need to stop writing about it.

Give it up. I'm still trying to jerk loose a piece of meat from Stueys Piggly Wiggly workin' worthless ass Greg Pulled pork recipe 5 lbs. pork butt shoulder 1 ½ tsp. smoked paprika 2tsp. black pepper (less if too spicy for you) 1 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. dried thyme 1tsp. garlic powder ½ tsp salt 1 cup of water. Mix all the seasoning well in a small bowl, then rub it evenly all over the pork. Put it in your slow cooker, add the water and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or 4 to 5 on high. When you can pull it apart with two forks easily. It is ready, and very good. Archie

Wow.
That's the best post I've ever seen out of Archie.
Of course, as usual, he probably cribbed it from somebody else and didn't post an acknowledgement.

OK, Google to the rescue....
Several recipes call for intial cooking in an OVEN at 450F, then lower temp to 325 to 350 till suitable internal temp is reached.
Sounds about right to me.
